Michelle And Barack Obama Cried Dropping Off Sasha At College
Democrats Unveil Impeachment Articles
Michelle Obama says she and Barack Obama got emotional while dropping off their younger daughter, Sasha, at college earlier this year.
“We were really good about it,” she told Jenna Bush Hager in a new “Today” show interview. “We didn’t want to embarrass her because, you know, she had roommates.”
The former first lady said it was the “final goodbye” that made the tears come out.
“Sasha drove off on her own and said that last good- bye, that’s when we were, like [crying noises],” she said.
The Kennesaw State Uni- versity cheerleader who was disciplined after taking a knee during the national anthem two years ago just won a $145,000 settlement from the state of Georgia.

leaders at the Georgia college felt the backlash from the school after, inspired by Colin Kaepernick, they chose to take a knee in Sep- tember 2017.
After the kneeling protest, the cheerleaders were not al- lowed on the field at the next game until after the national anthem played.
As a result of the school’s decision, the college’s presi- dent Sam Olens was forced to resign and officials at the university admitted that the Dean’s constitutional rights were not protected.

House Democrats on Tues- day introduced two articles of impeachment against Presi- dent Trump alleging abuse of power and obstruction of Congress regarding his inter- actions with Ukraine, touch- ing off a rapid-fire sequence that could result in a momen- tous floor vote in a matter of days.
“The framers of the Consti- tution prescribed a clear rem- edy for presidents who so violate their oath of office,” said House Judiciary Com- mittee Chairman Jerry Nadler, D-N.Y. "No one, not even the president, is above the law.”
His office later posted text of the articles, which declare Trump's actions warrant impeachment, trial and re- moval from office.
The key Democratic com- mittee leaders, along with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., outlined their impeachment plans in a brief and pointed statement to the media early Tuesday morning, and left without taking questions.
Nadler previewed two ar- ticles "charging the president with high crimes and misde- meanors." He said the first is dedicated to "abuse of power," alleging the presi- dent has "exercised the pow- ers of his office for his personal benefit while ignor- ing or injuring the public in- terest." Nadler said Trump put himself before country while endangering national security and America's democracy.
