Police In Ohio Shoot And Kill Teenage Girl, Shortly Before Derek Chauvin Verdict
Hester Ford, The Oldest Living American, Has Died
    A Black teenage girl was fatally shot by police Tuesday in Colum- bus, Ohio, after officers report- edly responded to an attempted stabbing.
A family member identified the victim as Ma’khia Bryant; city officials declined to release her name. Columbus Mayor An- drew Ginther and police offi- cials said she was 15.
Late Tuesday, police released body-cam video that appeared to show the victim with a knife in her hand. Officials said the re- sponding cops were attempting to break up a fight. Police played the video at regular speed, then in slow motion.

Hester Ford, a North Car- olina woman who was recog- nized as the oldest living American, died peacefully on Saturday in her home in Char- lotte, North Carolina, her great-granddaughter Tanisha Patterson-Powe confirmed.
Ford was at least 115 years and 245 days old at the time of her death, according to the Gerontology Research Group, who verified her as the oldest living American in 2019. Her family, however, told CNN she was born on August 15, 1904, which would make her 116 years old.
Ford was born in Lancaster, South Carolina, to Peter and Frances McCardell. She went on to marry John Ford and had 12 children -- eight girls and four boys.

A knife was reportedly found next to the youngster. She was transported to a hospital and pronounced dead less than an hour later.

Walter Mondale Dies: Former Vice President
 The former sheriff's deputy suspected of murdering three people in Austin on Sunday has been arrested.
Stephen Broderick, 41, was taken into custody on Monday morning after two 911 callers spotted him walking along Old Kimbro Road near the US 290 highway, the Austin American-Statesman reported. He was armed, but apprehended without incident.
He is accused of fatally shooting his own daughter Alyssa Broderick, and her boyfriend Willie Simmons. The third victim is believed to be Broderick's estranged wife Amanda.

Mondale, often called by his nickname “Fritz,” died Monday in Minneapolis, his family said in a statement. No cause of death was given.

Emory, Atlanta’s HBCUs To Require Students Get COVID-19 Vaccine
 According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Pittsburgh Steelers and head coach Mike Tomlin have agreed to terms on a three-year contract exten- sion that will keep Tomlin in Pittsburgh through the 2024 season.
Tomlin became the Steelers head coach in 2007, replacing the great Bill Cowher. Tom- lin is 145-78-1 in the regular season, 8-8 in the postseason and is 1-1 in Super Bowls. The Steelers have never had a los-
