Detectives Seek Witness To Fatal Shooting
Man Wanted
   Possible witness to fatal shooting.
The fatal shooting took place in the park- ing lot of this 7-Eleven, corner of Memorial Highway and George Road Sunday night.
A man wanted in connec- tion with a murder last year has been arrested. The mur- der took place on September 10, 2020.
According to the Hillsbor- ough County Sheriff’s Office a shooting took place at Cooper’s Pond Apartment Complex on Fountain Mist Drive. When deputies re- sponded to the 9-1-1 call they located the victim inside one of the apartments around 2:30 p.m.
The victim was trans- ported to St. Joseph’s Hospi- tal, where the victim died. The suspect fled from the scene.
Detectives gathered infor- mation that led them to 19- year-old Dontavius
DONTAVIUS WILLIAMS Williams as a suspect in the
shooting. Williams was ar- rested on an active warrant and is facing the charges of first-degree felony murder with a firearm and armed robbery with a firearm dis- charge.
Detectives with the Hills- borough County Sheriff’s Of- fice is currently asking anyone with information about a fatal shooting to come forward. The shooting took place at the 7- Eleven, corner of Memorial Highway and George Road around 11 p.m., Sunday, in Town N’ County.
Detectives believe there was a witness to the shooting and is asking that person to come forward.
According to police, a ver- bal altercation between two individuals led to the shoot- ing. When deputies arrived at the scene, they discovered an adult male victim on the ground on George Road. Deputies attempted to per-
form life-saving measures as they waited for paramedics to arrive. The 20-year-old victim was transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital Main, where he died as a result of his injuries. There was no addi- tional information released about the victim.
During their investigation, detectives are learned a verbal altercation took place between the victim and an unknown suspect outside the conven- ience store.
Shortly after, the victim re- turned to his vehicle and drove out of the parking lot onto George Road. The un- known suspect followed the victim’s vehicle and pulled up next to it, then the suspect
fired multiple shots toward the victim.

Sheriff Chad Chronister
said, “Surveillance video shows a Hispanic male, driv- ing a white Mini Cooper, come in contact with the victim out- side the gas station, before en- tering the convenience store to make a purchase.
“Detectives would like to talk to this individual about what he may have seen and are asking anyone who may know him, or who sees him, to please come forward.”

     Man Charged With DUI Manslaughter
 A 30-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a fatal accident. He has been charged with DUI manslaughter.
According to the Hillsbor- ough County Sheriff’s Office, the accident that claimed the life of a motorcyclist took place in February.
On Wednesday, April 14, deputies arrested Laramie Vantreeck, at The Preserve at Mobbly Bay Apartments, in the 8000 block of Solano Bay Loop in Tampa. After con- ducting an investigation into the February 3 accident, which occurred in the parking lot of the apartment complex,

HCSO’s traffic homicide de- tectives determined Vantreeck was traveling westbound on Solano Bay
Loop, and turned in front of a motorcycle that was traveling eastbound.
The victim got caught un- derneath Vantreeck’s black 2016 Dodge Ram, which con- tinued to turn, until a witness yelled for the driver to stop.
The motorcyclist was transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital Main, where he died from injuries sustained during the crash.
Deputies conducted Field Sobriety Exercises on Vantreek at the scene and observed impairment. Blood alcohol concentration tests re- vealed he had a level of 0.149%.
