Tampa Native Graduates From Naval Academy
IN THE SPOTLIGHT
Congratulations
ENSIGN AALIYAH GORDON
Last Friday, a Tampa na- tive was among the graduates at the United States Naval Academy. Upon graduation, she was commissioned as an Ensign in the U. S. Navy.
Ensign Aaliyah Gor- don graduated from Robin- son High School, Class Valedictorian in 2014. While attending Robinson High School, she was a member of the basketball team, swim team, track and field, and the school’s championship flag football team.
Ensign Gordon earned her B. S. Degree in Science and Political Science from the U. S. Naval Academy. As a member of the U. S. Navy, Ensign Gordon, 22, is fol- lowing in her father’s foot- steps.
Ensign Gordon is the daughter of Retired Chief Petty Officer Herbert and Mrs. Charisse Gordon.
She will report to Norfolk, Virginia, to begin training in the Surface Warfare commu- nity later this month.
CHRISTINA
This week’s Spotlight feature is Christina, and she doesn’t need much of an introduction, because her photos say it all. Christina said be- cause of her energy and motivation, she’s bound and determined to work hard and make the sacrifices necessary to be successful. We’re sure we’ll be seeing more of Christina in the fu- ture. Congratulations to Christina as this week’s Spotlight.
DR. NAKAYAE NORTON
Extended congratulations to Dr. Nakaye Norton. She has successfully received her Doctorate Degree, College of Nursing, from the University of South Florida.
Dr. Norton is currently employed as a Nurse Practi- tioner at Tampa General Hos- pital. Dr. Norton, your dedication and hard work has paid off.

The Washington Park And Rochelle High School Alumni Association, Inc., 25th Annual Scholarship Banquet
The Washington Park and Rochelle High School Alumni Association, Inc. will celebrate its 25th Annual Scholarship Banquet on Sat- urday, June 9, 2018. The Scholarship Banquet will be held at the R P Funding Cen- ter in Sykes Hall.
Eleven scholarships will be presented to Lakeland High School senior gradu- ates who will be attending an institution of higher educa- tion: college or university. The Reception will start at 6 p. m., the banquet will start at 7 p. m. Entertainment will be provided by the TAABU Band.
