15-Year-Old Bicyclist Struck By Two Cars Dies
Popular Entertainment Promoter Dies Suddenly Of Heart Attack
  A Tampa teenager died last week after being involved in a traffic accident. The acci- dent took place Wednesday evening at the intersection of N. 22nd Street and E. Fowler Avenue.
According to the Tampa Police Department, Andre Dwayne Moore, Jr., of Tampa, was riding his bicycle north bound in the west bound lanes of E. Fowler Av- enue. As he approached N. 22nd Street, he was struck by the front bumper of a Maserati Ghibli, driven by Ms. Ewa Matejek, 29, of Oldsmar.
Moore was struck a sec- ond time by the front bumper of a dodge Nitro driven by Ms. Caroline M. King, 21, of Seminole, Florida.
Police stated that both drivers had a green light at the time of the accident.
Moore was transported to Tampa General Hospital with life-threatening injuries. He passed away on Thursday night.
Police stated that the in- vestigation remains active.
A Tampa native, Moore was en route home at the time of the accident, his mother, Ms. Joyce Paris said.

everything about bicycles. He loved riding them, fixing them, anything about bicy- cles.”
One of four children born to Ms. Paris, he was her only son. Moore was an 8th grade student at Dorothy Thomas Exceptional Center at the time of his death.
In addition to his mother and sisters, Moore is sur- vived by his father, and 3 other siblings, other family members and friends.
Funeral Services will be held for Moore on Saturday at Allen Temple AME Church. Wilson Funeral Home is in charge of handling arrange- ments.

A popular entertainment promoter passed away early Sunday, just after midnight of a massive heart attack.
Fredrick “Freddie” Shellman was 65 years old. A Tampa native, Shellman
graduated from Howard W. Blake High School in 1971. He furthered his education at Florida A&M University, where he played tennis, and graduated in 1975.
Returning to Tampa, Shellman became an educa- tor, teaching in the Hillsbor- ough County School System for 13 years. He taught at Gorie and Twin Lakes Ele- mentary Schools, concluding his teaching career at Young Junior High School.
Shellman got his first taste of the entertainment field as a promoter of F&F Productions (Freddie and Fleming), followed by his affiliation with a popular club at the time, Uptown 21. He is

  mostly known for his affilia- tion with Celebrity’s, another community club.
In the 1990s, he officially went into the entertainment business as a promoter, con- sultant, manager and stage director. He partnered with promoter, Lawrence Hires, as a stage director for several concerts, his nephew, Kelvin Pearce explained.
“However, for the past 10 years he has been heavily in- volved in his church, Tyer Temple United Methodist Church, as the Sound Direc- tor,” Pearce said.
About 4 years ago, Shell- man received a pacemaker, but had been doing well with it, Pearce said.
In addition to Pearce, Shellman is survived by his parents, Rosa Shellman and Frank Shellman, a daughter, Treva, son, Tremahne; 4 siblings and other family and friends.
Services for Shellman will be held a day after his 66th birthday, Saturday, De- cember 22nd, at Tyer Temple UM Church. Ray Williams Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
