THE TAMPA BAY GOSPEL LEGENDS
BY GWEN HAYES Sentinel Editor
The Tampa Bay Gospel Leg- ends will host their first Pre- Christmas Musical since they organized 6 years ago.
This family event will be held on Sunday, December 16, 2018, 5 p. m., at First Church of God, 2202 E. Busch Blvd. Vincent Miller is the pastor.
“The Legends want to spread some Christmas cheer through- out the community,” Mrs. Marie Miller, founder of the Tampa Bay Gospel Legends said.
“With all the disasters we’ve had this year, this will help lift our spirit and show love to each other through song and praise,” she further stated.
The Tampa Bay Gospel Leg- ends was an idea of Mrs. Marie Miller. Seeing that the “old- time” quartet singing was dying, as well as so many of the gospel songs, she wanted to bring to- gether some of the older groups and singers. That became the Tampa Bay Gospel Singers. The group has grown through the years.
“We wanted to keep the old
singers and songs, and the peo- ple were receptive,” she said.
Various groups and choirs have agreed to appear on the Pre-Christmas program. Among those who will be on program are: Beulah Baptist Male Chorus, Gospel Ministry Singers, Voices of Harmony, Gospel Music Workshop of America (GMWA) – Tampa Chapter; Upshaw- Miller Singers and many others.
This is an open door pro- gram. For more information, contact Lorene Poole, (813) 263-5734 or Marie Miller, (813) 340-5874.
