LeBron James Says Preseason Sprained Ankle Was ‘Setback’
Houston Astros Claim First World Series Title In Game 7 Win Over Los Angeles Dodgers
The Houston Astros celebrate after Game 7 of baseball's World Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
The Cleveland Cavaliers are not off to the kind of start to the season they envisioned. They are 3-5 and have lost four in a row, including games to the Nets, Knicks and Pacers, whom were expected to be lot- tery teams.
Now LeBron James is suggesting that the team’s pre- season didn’t go the way he would have hoped, largely be- cause of a sprained ankle he suffered that he calls a “set- back.”
“This was probably the worst training camp for me in my career because of the in- jury,” James said Wednes-

day, via ESPN’s Dave McMe- namin. “I didn’t get an oppor- tunity to do the things that I like to do and with the summer thatIhad,Ikindofhadaset- back.”
James says he looks for- ward to training camp because
it’s a chance to get together with his teammates and begin building for the upcoming sea- son.
“Formetobeinandout and much more out that in and to be able to implement what I do, especially with [eight] new guys, that kind of hurt,” said James.
Despite the team’s losses, James’ stats are on par with last season, and he’s even im- proved upon his shooting per- centages, so it’s hard to say that he’s off. But after the big Kyrie Irving trade that brought in Isaiah Thomas, who is not playing yet.
Ezekiel Elliott’s Suspension Back On After Judge’s Ruling
EZEKIEL ELLIOTT Ezekiel Elliott’s six-game
suspension is back on after a federal judge ruled in the case on Monday night.
Judge Katherine Polk Failla, a judge in the Southern District of New York, dissolved the temporary restraining order that was blocking Elliott’s six- game suspension. More impor- tantly, she denied him an injunction to block the suspen- sion.
The decision puts the sus- pension back into effect. How- ever, the NFLPA, which has been representing the Dallas Cowboys running back in the case, has 24 hours to file an ap- peal with the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals. Still, Elliott’s sus- pension would be in effect until the Court of Appeals rules.
As it stands, Elliott would now miss games against the Chiefs, Falcons, Eagles, Charg- ers, Redskins and Giants. He would be eligible to return in Week 15 against the Raiders in Oakland on Dec. 17.
The Cowboys are 4-3 this season. The suspension is com- ing at a time when Elliott was starting to play his best. He had 219 total yards and three touch- downs against the 49ers in Week 7, and 150 rushing yards and two touchdowns in Week 8.
World Series trophy will call Houston home for the first time.
The Houston Astros took Game 7 on the road in Los An- geles on Wednesday night, 5- 1, behind the strong pitching of Lance McCullers, Jr., Brad Peacock and Charlie Morton and the slugging of outfielder George Springer.
Springer, who was 2-for- 4 with a double and a home run which chased Dodgers starter Yu Darvish, was named MVP.
Morton, an unlikely vet- eran star, did not allow a baserunner over the final three innings and was given the win.
The Houston Astros cele- brate after Game 7 of baseballs World Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2017, in Los Angeles. The Astros won 5-1 to win the series 4-3.
The title comes two months after the city of Hous- ton was devastated by Hurri-
cane Harvey. The city suffered extreme flooding and dozens of deaths. The city rallied around its Astros in the wake of the disastrous storm. The team wore a "Houston Strong" patch on their jerseys through- out the postseason. The pa- rade will be Friday.
"I don't think you can put it into words what this means for the city of Houston," Mc- Cullers told Fox after the win.
The Astros -- winners of 100 games for just the second time in franchise history -- were one of the favorites to win the World Series entering the postseason, but they had to rally from a 3-2 American League Championship Series deficit to the New York Yan- kees to do so.
The Dodgers were looking to pull the same against the Astros in the World Series -- returning home trailing 3-2 in the series. But after pitching their way into a Game 7, the decisive game for the Dodgers went sour from the start.
   Bill Belichick Reversing Decision
 To Sign Colin Kaepernick After
Call From Donald Trump Is False
Bill Belichick reversing a decision to sign Colin Kaepernick after a call from President Donald Trump is false information shared by a spoof account posing as re- porter Adam Schefter.
There is no truth to a tweet that the New England head coach declined to pick up Kaepernick after speaking with Trump.
The former San Francisco 49ers quarterback has been without a job since starting a wave of protests during the Na- tional Anthem over social in- justice. Many have blamed Kaepernick’s form of protest as a reason for why he has not been picked up by an NFL team despite lesser rated ath- letes taking jobs.
Additionally, there is a his- tory between Trump and Be- lichick. There is no truth to a rumor that the Patriots coach
COLIN KAEPERNICK
declined to sign Kaepernick. You can see the fake tweet below. The tweets were not sent by Schefter’s genuine Twitter account (@AdamSchefter).
The last news about Kaepernick was that he filed a lawsuit against the NFL, al- leging that team owners had colluded to keep him out of the league. Kaepernick claims that his protests were the rea- son.
Snopes reported that a common trolling tactic on Twitter is to create an account that slightly alters the Twitter handle of a well-known per- sonality.

A woman, 43, told detec- tives Monday that Mason, also 43, grabbed her by the neck and hit her in the stomach when she told him she no longer wanted to be in a rela- tionship with him, police said in a press release.
"While defensively trying to protect herself, she snatched his beaded bracelets off of his wrist as he was grabbing her by the arms, which explained the beads throughout the location," the arrest affidavit stated. "During the altercation, she stated that she was slapped with an open hand."
Mason, started his NFL ca- reer with the Tennessee Titans and played with the team from 1997 to 2004. During his time with the Titans, he was selected to the Pro Bowl in 2000 and 2003. He then played for the Baltimore Ravens, and split 12 games between the New York Jets and Houston Texans dur- ing his final season in 2011.
