Tampa Alphas Receive 2 Grants For Men Of Tomorrow Mentoring Program

The MLK Day of Service Award will be used to assist with an expanded Men of To- morrow Program workshop to be held on January 9, 2016 at the University of South Florida that will offer students tips on test-taking and expo- sure to various career fields.
Open to middle and high school students, the Men of Tomorrow Program is the Tampa Chapter’s initiative of the Fraternity’s National “Go- to-High School, Go-to-Col- lege” Program and is geared toward helping students suc- ceed in high school and col- lege.
Students also participate in college tours and social out-
ings. Past Men of Tomorrow participants have attended/or are currently attending a vari- ety of colleges and universi- ties including, Notre Dame, the Naval Academy, Washing- ton University, University of Florida, Florida A&M Univer- sity, Florida State University, Morehouse College, Univer- sity of South Florida, the Uni- versity of Miami, and Bethune- Cookman Univer- sity.
The Chapter has also been awarded funding for the Men of Tomorrow Go-to-High School, Go-to-College Pro- gram from Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity’s National Organi- zation as part of a $1,000,000 Mentoring Opportunities for Youth Grant being funded by the United States Department of Justice – Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Pre-

Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Enjoys Christmas Gathering
Members of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Gamma Eta Sigma Chapter, Andrew Smith, Lewis Brown, Rod Carter, Jermaine Hankerson, Zannie Mount, Daniel Smith, Ron Michael, Dexter Hall, Luzon Dickerson, and Larry Whiteside show off some of the toys they collected for Toys For Tots. They were assisted by 2 members of the hotel staff.
Brothers with the Gamma Eta Sigma Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc., and their guests, enjoyed a night of good food, dancing and im- promptu strolling at their an- nual Christmas gathering in Tampa.
As part of the celebration,
brothers brought new, un- wrapped toys to donate to the Marine Corps Toys for Tots program.
The Gamma Eta Sigma Chapter was chartered in No- vember of 1946.
As part of their 70th year celebration, the chapter will
