       MRS. ELOUISE BROADNAX
A Homegoing Celebration for Mrs. Elouise Hooks Broadnax of Tampa, Florida, who passed away on Friday, May 31, 2019, will be held Saturday, June 8, 2019, at 10 a.m. at Aikens Funeral Home, 2708 E. Dr. Mar- tin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Rev. As- bury Broadnax, III, officiating.
Elouise was born March 2, 1924, in Plant City, Florida to the late David Hooks and Mattie Long.
She attended Idlewild Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; former spouse, As- bury, II; and grandchildren, Raymotia and ShanDrea.
She leaves to cherish her pre- cious memories with: her chil- dren, Bertrand L., Asbury, III, Sylvia L., and Ray Anthony; grandchildren, Towsie, Ashbury, IV, Joseph, Lanier, Tionna, Leana, Jordon, Ray, Jr., Lev- etriss and Karrington; and brother-in-law, Benjamin Broad- nax.
The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, June 7, 2019, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the Chapel on Saturday for the service.
MRS. PATRICIA HAYES
A Homegoing Celebration for Mrs. Patricia “Pat” Hayes, of Tampa, Florida, who passed away on Saturday, June 1, 2019, will be held Saturday, June 8th, 9 a.m. at Bible-Based Fellowship Church of Temple Terrace, 8718 N. 46th Street, Pastor Earl Mason, officiat- ing.
Patricia was born in Pulaski, West Virginia, to Jess Wither- spoon and Maldora Witherspoon. She was a faithful member of Bible-Based Fellowship Church of Temple Terrace.
She was employed with Quest Diagnostic Laboratories for over 25 years. She enjoyed going to church and spending time with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David Hayes.
She leaves to cherish he fond and loving memories with: her 3 children, Cassandra Washington, Tremayne Hayes and Glenda Hayes; grandchildren, Raequan and Jaiden Washington, Skye, Yazmin, Amillyon, David, Que- monie and Jordan Hayes; great grandchildren, Rose, RaShawn, Rey Washington and Ayden Hayes; a host of other family members and friends, who will miss her.
The visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Satur- day at the church. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the serv- ice.

A Memorial Service Celebra- tion for Mr. Clyde Isaac Howard, of Tampa, Florida, who passed away on Sunday, May 26, 2019,
MRS. IDA MAE NIX
A Catholic Mass Celebration of Life for Mrs. Ida Mae Nix, of Tampa, Florida who passed away on Sunday, June 2, 2019, will be held Saturday, June 8th, 2 p.m. at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church, 1203 N. Nebraska Ave., Father Hugh Chikawe, pastor; Father Ed Lamb, officiating. The interment will be held in Rest Haven Memo- rial Park Cemetery.
Ida Mae Nix, a long-time resi- dent of the Tampa Bay area, was called home to the Lord at St. Joseph Hospital. She was born in 1933 in Madison, Florida. Ida re- ceived a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from University of South Florida. She furthered her love for education at the University of Tampa, where she received a Mas- ter of Education in Nursing.
Ida worked at the Veterans Administration Hospital Tampa, Florida until her retirement. Ida was a Life Member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Gamma Theta Omega Chapter and a Char- ter Member of Chi Eta Phi Soror- ity, Inc.
In addition, she served as a member of the Diocese of St. Pe- tersburg Ladies Guild as well as the Catholic Women Club. Ida’s talents were many, she was an ex- tremely accomplished nurse, a mentor, a beloved wife, a mother, a grandmother, a community vol- unteer and a friend who loved to entertain.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Willie and Pearlie Murphy; five sisters and one brother.
She is survived by her sweet- heart and husband of 67 years, Joseph Nix and their three children, Joann Carter (Noble), of Tampa, Florida, Michael Nix (Connie), of Land O’ Lakes, Florida and Kerry Nix (Elizabeth), of Orlando, Florida, along with ten grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; two great-great- grandchildren; three brothers; one sister; a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
The family will greet friends on Friday, June 7th from 6:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Aikens Funeral Home.
The Ivy Beyond the Wall Cere- mony will begin at 7 p.m. The fam- ily and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.
In lieu of flowers, Ida re- quested donations be made to her beloved Chapter, Gamma Theta Omega of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.; checks payable to: Gamma Theta Omega, Inc., P.O. Box 1246, Tampa, Florida 33601.
BROTHER ARCHIE JAMES, YOUNG, SR.
A Homegoing Celebration for Brother Archie James Young, Sr., of Tampa, Florida, who passed away on Wednesday, May 29, 2019, will be held Saturday, June 8th, 11 a.m. at St. John Progressive M. B. Church, 2504 E. Chipco St., Rev. Dr. Bartholomew Banks, Sr., pastor, of- ficiating. The interment will be held in Rest Haven Memorial Park Ceme- tery on Tuesday, June 11th at 10 a.m.
Archie James Young, Sr., was born on August 30, 1945, to birth mother, Fairrest Dexter Rogers and reared by adopted parents, James and Elvira Young. Brother Young at- tended the Historical Glover Ele- mentary School and other public schools of Hillsborough County and graduated from Middleton Senior High School.
As a young man pursing his en- deavors, he began his pursuit at CF Chemicals in Bartow, Florida, his de- sire was to advance, and he didn’t allow any hindrance to deter his de- velopmental process.
He enlisted in the Job Corps in Maine, then returned to Tampa, se- curing a job with Tampa Electric Company and later retired from Hillsborough County Public Works Department.
Archie enjoyed spending time with family and his favorite past time was the two “F’s” football and fishing. He looked forward to at- tending Lake Yale Bible Retreat each year. He truly loved the Lord, faith- fully serving on the Usher Board #1, a member of the Intercessory Prayer Group, Sunday School Class #5, and graduated from the Faith Bible Insti-
tuteB. ro. Young was sat aside as a Deacon and completed Deacon Training, however, being humble; he declined the position, but continued to be faithful in service.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Fairrest Dexter Rogers, James and Elvira Young; grandpar- ents, Robert and Edith Dexter and brother, Bernard Rogers.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories with: his loving wife, Mae Alice Walker Young; son, Archie James Young, Jr., daughter, Felicia Young Evans (Roland Sr.); 4 grand- children, Dejuan Young, Roland Evans, Jr., Taviana Evans and Toni Evans; 3 godchildren, Stephanie Randolph, Rashard Freeman, Joshua Bent; 4 sisters, Gertrude Rogers of Leesburg, Florida, Phyllis Rogers of Jacksonville, Florida, Sue Elaine Hamilton-Latimer of Web- ster, Florida and Annie Bell Miller, of Bealsville, Florida; 3 aunts, Mary Ann Sherman of Bealsville, Florida, Edith Demeritte of Plant City, Florida, Knazilee Dexter of Bealsville, Florida; uncle, Barneswell Dexter of Bealsville, Florida; 2 sisters-in-law, Emma Rogers of Waverly, Georgia and Lil- lian Walker of Littleton, North Car- olina; 2 brothers-in-law, Charles L. He was preceded in death by: his father, Clyde Howard and mother, Lottie Howard.
