5 Allergy Relieving Foods
Reasons To Drink Hot Water With Lemon Every Morning
Check out these five foods that can alleviate some of the symptoms associated with al- lergies.
1. Fish - Because salmon, tuna, mackerel, sardines, and other types of fish contain omega-3 fatty acids, they can lower your chances of develop- ing allergies by fighting inflam- mation.
2. Fruits and vegetables
- Studies have shown that high levels of vitamin C reduce his- tamine and help it break down faster, once it’s released, help-
ing you to breathe easier.
3. Yogurt - Yogurt contains “good” bacteria, which can help with congestion and
runny nose.
4. Green tea - High in the
antioxidant epigallocatechin-3- gallate (EGCG), green tea has been proven to reduce the pro- duction of mucus.
5. Spicy foods - Do you ever notice that when you eat spicy foods, your nose runs and your eyes water? It may be an- noying, but spices are actually clearing your sinuses.
Trying to cut coffee out of your morning? A cup of hot water with fresh lemon juice is an ideal al- ternative that many nutritionists drink every day — and it’s not just because of its tangy flavor! Here are four compelling reasons to make this quick concoction part of your morning ritual.
It helps you detox every day: While lemons may seem quite acidic, they’re a surpris- ingly good source of an alkaline food that can help balance your body’s pH and the combination wakes up your liver and flushes out nasty toxins.
It wakes up your digestive tract: This simple yet powerful beverage stimulates your gas- trointestinal tract — improving your body’s ability to absorb nu-
trients all day and helping food pass through your system with ease.
It supports weight loss:
Lemon juice contains pectin, a soluble fiber that has been shown to aid in weight-loss struggles. And if you’ve been sipping on a cup of tea loaded with sugar or honey every morning, this bever- age will slash calories from your daily diet.
It soothes an upset tummy: When you go to bed on a full stomach, pesky heartburn or a bloated belly can get in the way of your morning. Hot water cleanses your system, while the flavonoids from lemon juice may help reduce acidity in your stom- ach, so you feel like yourself sooner.
Are Beards A Health Risk?
How can you maintain your facial hair without it turning into a petri dish?
1. Cleanse. Using the same shampoo and condi-
tioner you use on your head, make sure you thoroughly
wash your facial hair. It is important to always condition the hair af- terwards as it has a tendency to be thicker and drier. You may even consider buying a special conditioning cream or balm to apply to your beard.
2. Groom. Trimming your beard will help to keep the hair from being completely unruly. And since only so much bacteria can be re- moved with just soap and water, Keep it trimmed.
Be sure that you are keeping your trimming and grooming tools clean as well. Keeping these sterile will prevent you from further con- taminating yourself with the bacteria you are trying to remove.
Bumps Under Your Eyes
Ever notice white dots on your face, particularly in the eye region? This is possibly a very common skin disorder called milia. They look like white heads, but the only problem is you can’t pop them.
Where Do They Come From?
There are two types of this disorder: primary milia and secondary milia. Unlike many skin disorders, milia isn’t genetic at all. Primary milia forms when you have a high concentration of sweat glands that get keratin trapped under the skin. Secondary milia happens as a re- sult of an injury that blocks the skin ducts. The skin around the eyes is very sensitive and can be easily damaged from friction or sunburn.
What Are Treatment Options?
These bumps need to be treated as cysts not pimples, and therefore, home draining should be the last option. For permanent removal there are laser resurfacing treatments, but they can be rather costly. Other options that work rather well, but aren’t necessarily permanent, are to go the doctor to have them drained.
Prevention?
Try incorporating chemical peels and exfoliators into your regular routine. This will help keep the skin smooth and not create pockets and places that keratin and other dirt can become trapped.
