The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office reports that on May 25th at 9:55 a. m., Mar- cos Felix Hernandez-Gon- zalez, 35, conducted an illegal traffic stop while impersonat- ing a law enforcement officer. Deputies said Gonzalez stopped the victim by flashing his headlights and beeping the horn at Clay Pit Road and Lemon Avenue in Seffner.
Gonzalez allegedly ap- proached the passenger side of the victim’s vehicle, flashed was reported to be police cre- dentials and identified himself as a narcotics officer. He then reportedly lifted his shirt and displayed a handgun and opened the passenger side door of the victim’s vehicle.
The victim told deputies Gonzalez ordered him out of his vehicle and told him he had a warrant for his arrest for fail- ure to pay child support.
Gonzalez reportedly searched the victim, and or- dered him to put his wallet containing $1,000 along with his car keys and cell phone in a plastic bag. Gonzalez then allegedly told the victim he would have to search his vehi- cle and ordered him to sit in the back seat of his (Gonza- lez) vehicle.
While sitting in the back seat of the vehicle, Gonzalez told

the victim he could take care of the warrant if he produced a check stub, deputies said. The victim complied and was or- dered to go back to his vehicle. As the victim returned to his vehicle, deputies said Gonza- lez fled with the victim’s prop- erty.
The victim was shown a photo line up and he positively identified Gonzalez as the person who committed the of- fense. A warrant was issued for his arrest in Hillsborough County, and he was arrested by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office Tuesday night and charged with robbery with a firearm, armed kidnapping with a firearm, impersonating a police officer, and grand theft.
