Semba (voiced by Donald Glover) must return with his friends ( Nala- (Beyonce), Pumbaa ( Seth Rogen), Timon (Billy Eichner) to the kingdom to rescue it from his uncle Scar (Chiwetel Ejiofor). Director Jon Favreau did a great job putting this film together with action and music. Must see for children and adults. No.1 at box office- $243M-U.S/ foreign-$351M- (bud- get-N/A)- ****
Crawl - A young college student (Kaya Scodelario), while attempting to save her father (Barry Pepper) during a category 5 hurricane, finds herself trapped in a flooding house and must fight for her life against alligators. Spider-Man - Far From Home - Following the events of Avengers: Endgame (2019) and still upset over the passing of Iron Man, Spider-Man (Tom Holland) , Nick Fury (Samuel jackson) and friends (Zendaya, Jacob Batalon) must step up to take on new threats Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal) in a world that has changed forever. This Spider- Man was taking a serious beating throughout the move. (Thumbs Up!) Director Jon Watt did a great making this Spider Man likable and action- packed. A little long 2hrs/10mins. Must- see for Spider Man fans. Made - $327M- U.S/ foreign- $652M- (budget-$160M)- ****
Yesterday - A struggling musician Jack (Himesh Patel) realizes he's the only person on Earth who can remember The Beatles and their songs after waking up in an alternate timeline where (Coke. cigarettes) never existed. With the help of his friend Ellie( Lily James) , pop star Ed Sheeran and manager Carol( Sophia Di Martino), Jack soon become an instant sensation singing the Beatles songs. I must admit, surprisingly, I really enjoyed this film with the well written script and Beatles songs. Oscar winning Director Brian Boyle (Slumdog Millionaire) did a great job making this film fun. Did't feel like it was 2hrs long- Made $59M- U.S/ foreign-$40M- (budget- $26M)-****
Annabelle Comes Home - While babysitting the daughter (McKenna Grace) of Ed and Lor- raine Warren(Vera Farmiga, Patrick Wilson), a teenager (Madison Iseman) and her friend ( Katie Sarife) unknowingly awaken an evil spirit trapped in the doll, Annabelle. The girls soon recognize they are trapped in the house with Annabelle and other evil spirits. Definitely, not for kids. Must see for horror fans. Made $67M- U.S./ foreign- $132M- (budget N/A)- ***1/2
Toy Story 4 - When a new toy called "Forky" joins Woody (Tom Hanks. Tim Allen) and the gang( Keanu Reeves, Jordan Peele), a road trip alongside old and new friends reveals how big the world can be for a toy. You have to give Disney/Pixar credit for coming up with these incredible sto- ries. Enjoyed it. Definitely, for adults and kids. Made - $381M- U.S.- foreign- $484M -(budget- N/A)- classic
Alladin - Will Smith Is Back! Director Guy Ritchie (Sherlock Holmes) put together a fantastic Disney Classic about a kind-hearted street urchin( Mena Massoud) and a power-hungry Grand Vizier ( Marwan Kenzari) vie for a magic lamp with a genie inside (Smith) that has the power to make their deepest wishes come true which is the love for the beautiful princess (Naomi Scott)- Must -see for adults and kids. Made -$341M- U.S./ foreign- $648M (budget-$183M)- ****
Avengers: Endgame (2019) - After the devastating ending of Avengers: Infinity War when Thanos (Josh Broslin) dissolved most of the Avengers and mankind, the universe is in ruins. With the help of remaining allies, theAvengers (Robert Downey Jr.- Ironman, Chris Evans-Captain Amer- ica, Chris Hemsworth-Thor, Scarlett Johansson-Black Widow, Mark Ruffalo- Hulk, Jeremy Ren- ner- Clint Barton, Don Cheadle- War Machine and Paul Rudd- Ant-Man) assemble once more in order to undo Thanos' actions and restore order to the universe. This Avengers film will give the audience the ending they were promised . Directors Anthony Russo and brother Joe, did a great job putting together this 3 hour/ 2 minute masterpiece that had a ending fans will enjoy. Must see if you can get a ticket. Shaft (2019) - John Shaft Jr. (Jessie T. Usher), a cyber security expert with a degree from MIT, enlists his Dad (Samuel Jackson, Regina Hall) to help uncover the truth behind his best friend's untimely death. Really confused how this movie received bad reviews, but Director Tim Story (Think Like A Man) did a great job making this film funny and action packed. Really enjoyed it. Must see ! Godzilla: King of the Monsters - The crypto-zoological agency Monarch(Kyle Chandler, Vera Farmiga, Millie Bobby Brown) faces off against a battery of god-sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah. Director Michael Dougherty did a great job making the storyline about the people instead of Godzilla. This Godzilla film was the better than the others. John Wick - Chapter 3- Parabellum- Super-assassin John Wick(Keanu Reeves) is on the run after killing a member of the international assassin's guild, and with a $14 million price tag on his head - he is the target of hit men and women everywhere.
