New Tampa Players Present Disney Classic, ‘The Little Mermaid’

For the past 2 months, the cast of the Disney Classic, “The Little Mermaid,” have been diligently rehearsing.
The cast of 52 from the New Tampa Players will pres- ent the production with a twist for the next two week- ends.
All performances are at the University Area CDC, 14013 N. 22nd Street, Tampa, FL 33613.
Residents of 33612 and 33613 zip codes can get free tickets at the door for any performance.

this opportunity,” she said. The New Tampa Players was founded in 2002. The group has been housed at the University Area CDC since
2015.

miliar with the “Little Mer-
maid” movie, but this “pro- duction has a unique twist. Through our partnership with Shinobi School, we are adding aerial choreography and parkour choreography to this classic Disney musical. It will be Disney meets Cirque Du Soleil!
“A young mermaid falls in love with a human prince and trades her voice to become human. In NTP's production, we have taken the classic Disney tale and given it a circus twist,” Paine explained. Ariel, played by Patty Smithey, is the main
character.
Joining the cast of 52 will
be 20 tech crew members and 13 members of the orchestra. Dates and times of the production are: Friday, July 26th, 8 P. M., Saturday, July 27th,2P.M.and8P.M.,Sun- day, July 28th, 2 P. M. Friday, August 2nd, 8 P. M., Saturday, August3rd,2P.M.and8P. M., and Sunday, August 4th 2 P. M. There are ticket prices for adults, students, seniors, military, and children.
