Winston, Mariota Entering Into Crucial Year Financially

Jalen Ramsey Showed Up To Training Camp In Armored Money Truck
JALEN RAMSEY
Jalen Ramsey is one of several star players who are openly seeking long-term con- tract extensions this offseason, but the All-Pro cornerback made what will likely be the loudest statement across the NFL with the way he showed up to training camp on Wednesday.
Ramsey arrived to train- ing camp in the back of a money truck — literally. He had someone give him a WWE-style introduction using a megaphone before he jumped out of the back of what was essentially a Brinks truck.
Adrian Peterson Being Sued By Another Lender Over $5.2M Loan
ADRIAN PETERSON
Adrian Peterson has had some highly publicized finan- cial problems over the past several years despite making nearly $100M on the field dur- ing his NFL career, and he is once again being sued for al- legedly failing to pay back a loan.
According to New York court documents, Peterson is being sued by Pennsylvania- based lender DeAngelo Vehicle Sales (DVS) for defaulting on a $5.2M loan.
Peterson also allegedly used some of the $5.2M loan to pay back Minneapolis-based Crown Bank, which filed a law- suit against him in 2017 claim- ing he defaulted on a $2.4M loan.
   Marvin Lewis Joins
Herm Edwards’ Staff
At Arizona State
Marvin Lewis spent the last 16 years as a head coach in the NFL with the Cincin- nati Bengals, but he has de- cided to do something this upcoming season that he has not done since 1989 — coach at the collegiate level.
On Tuesday, Arizona State announced that Lewis has joined head coach Herm Edwards’ staff as a special advisor.
Lewis went 131-122-3 in his 16 seasons with the Ben- gals, and his firing was long

overdue after he failed to win a single playoff game.
Zion Williamson Made Millions More From Nike
Due To Shoe Malfunction
A malfunction with a pair of sneakers made by Nike may have cost Zion Williamson some time dur- ing the college basketball sea- son earlier this year, but it sounds like it actually turned out to be a good thing for the former Duke star.
Williamson announced on Tuesday that he has signed an endorsement deal with Jordan Brand, which is of course owned by Nike. While the terms of the deal were not initially known, it’s being re- ported that Williamson blowing out his shoe on na- tional TV “made the stakes of
ZION WILLIAMSON
landing Zion that much greater.” It’s estimated that Williamson made millions more on his endorsement deal because the embarrass- ing sneaker malfunction made Nike that much more desperate to sign him.
There was plenty of specu- lation last season that Win- ston wouldn't remain in Tampa on his $20.922 mil- lion fifth-year option. Win- ston played well enough down the stretch once he re- gained the starting job from Ryan Fitzpatrick after a midseason benching for the Buccaneers to give him a fifth year despite off-field trans- gressions and being plagued by turnovers.
Winston served a three- game suspension at the start of last season under the league's personal conduct policy for allegedly groping a female Uber driver in 2016. In terms of on-field issues, only Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has thrown more than Win- ston's 58 interceptions since his NFL career began in 2015.
Winston starting to live up to the potential that made him 2015's first overall pick under new head coach Bruce Arians would likely extend his stay in Tampa be-
yond 2019 whether on a fran- chise tag or with a long-term deal. The non-exclusive quar- terback franchise tag should be around $27 million in 2020.
Arians is known as a quarterback whisperer pri- marily because of his work with Peyton Manning early in his career, Roethlis- berger's ascension as an upper echelon passer and for resurrecting Carson Palmer's career when he was with the Cardinals.
Like Winston, Mariota is playing under a $20.922 million fifth-year option, but for different reasons. His progress stalled during his first three NFL seasons in former head coach Mike Mularkey's "exotic smash- mouth" offense. The Titans weren't able to determine whether 2015's second over- all pick was the quarterback of the future in 2018 because he was slowed by an elbow injury on his throwing arm for a good part of the season.
Jayson Tatum Predicts Boston
  Chargers Reportedly
Will Make NBA Finals; He’ll Be
 Taking Hard Stance
An All-Star Averaging ‘Over 20’
Against Melvin Gordon
Jayson Tatum thinks he has a heck of an age-21 season in store for the people.
In an NBA 2K video feature that was released on Tuesday, the Boston Celtics forward re- acted to his player rating of 85 in this year’s game (down from an 87 last year) and called it “disrespectful.” Tatum then went on to pre- dict that his rating would rise to a 90 by next year.
“Imma average over 20 [points per game], [be an]
Melvin Gordon has in- formed the Los Angeles Chargers that he wants to be traded if they don’t sign him to a long-term extension be- fore Week 1, and the team is apparently prepared to call his bluff.
The Chargers are report- edly taking a hard stance against Gordon, and they do not appear willing to give him
