Easy Rawlins TV Series In The Works, Based On Walter Mosley's Books

Shadow and Act has learned that Amblin Televi- sion has closed a deal to de- velop and produce a series based on Walter Mosley’s bestselling books starring the character Ezekiel “Easy” Rawlins.
Sylvain White will exec- utive produce the series and direct the pilot episode. Mosley and his producing partner Diane Houslni will executive produce along with Amblin Television co-presi- dents Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey and Jeremy Bolt of JB Pictures.
The description: The drama, based on the gritty detective series, will center
around Easy, a Black WWII Army veteran turned hard- boiled private eye. The show will be set in 1950’s Los An- geles and will honor the great traditions of storytelling in the detective genre, while also exploring the racial in- equalities and social injustice experienced by Black people and other people of color.
Easy Rawlins was previ- ously featured on-screen in the 1995 adaptation of Mosley's Devil in a Blue Dress. Mosely currently ex- ecutive produces FX's Snow- fall and his latest Easy Rawlins novel, Blood Grove, was released just this month.

Bun B Eulogizes Recently Murdered Rapper Chucky Trill: ‘This Was A Good Man’
In the wake of Chucky Trill’s murder in Atlanta on Friday (March 5), a Texas legend paid tribute to him.
Bun B took to Instagram and poured his emotions out about the fallen rapper.

50 Cent, Kenya Barris Developing TV Show Based On ’50th Law’
Curtis “50 Cent” Jack- son is teaming up with actor and director Kenya Barris to create a television series based on Jackson’s New York Times bestseller, The 50th Law, co-written by author Robert Greene. The Power executive producer and black- ish creator will join forces to create an original show that will stream on Netflix. No word on its premiere date or who has been cast for the series.
Jackson will serve as co- producer by way of his G-Unit Film & Television company which has a hand in Starz’s
