Mother Needs Help To Lay Son To Rest
BY IRIS B. HOLTON Sentinel City Editor
Ms. Brenda Scott describes her son as a good-hearted, very caring, and very respectful young man. He had just turned 18-years-old and was awaiting the results of his test to ob- tain his high school diploma.
Although he was looking toward the future, he made a bad decision that cost him his life. And now, Ms. Scott needs help to lay her eld- est son to rest.
She stated that she had acquired life insur- ance on him, but it had not gone into effect when he died.
Damari Milton died along with 16-year- old Dequante Lightsey last week after the stolen vehicle he was driving crashed into a tree and burst into flames. It was traveling at a high rate of speed.
St. Petersburg police said the vehicle was not being chased when the crash took place at the intersection of 38th Avenue, North and 49th Street, North, just after 3 a.m.
A native of St. Petersburg, Milton attended the public schools of Pinellas County. He at- tended Boca Ceiga High School, but was en- rolled at Mycro Credit Recovery at the time of his death.
A typical teenager, Milton enjoyed music, singing, and writing.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by two younger brothers, other family members and friends.
His funeral will take place at Bethel A.M.E. Church of St. Petersburg. Lawson’s Funeral
