Living Healthy Workshops Planned For Seniors

We are living in an era when everyone is becoming more health conscious. In addition to exercising, people are becoming more aware of what they eat and how it af- fects the body.
The Living Healthy In Your Community Program, in partnership with the East Tampa Community Revital- ization Program, is currently offering health and wellness classes to residents age 60 and over. The classes will be held at various locations through0ut the city.
However, those wishing to participate in the class are encouraged to register by Monday, September 11th. They can register by calling (813) 803-4043.
The classes will be held beginning in September and continuing through Novem- ber.

learn how to be healthy, eat healthy, and be a better com- municator about your health needs.
You will learn how about healthy behaviors and chronic disease self-manage- ment skills. Disease preven- tion, different ways to deal with difficult emotions and problem-solving. You will also learn how to deal with healthcare professionals and the health care system.
Each participant will also receive a $10 food or produce voucher at each class. In order to receive the vouchers, participants must agree to at- tend classes and take part in scheduled health screenings. The vouchers will be re- deemable in your community through Feeding Tampa Bay’s My Mobile Market, which is a mobile grocery truck that brings healthy and affordable foods directly to you.

Loretta Ingraham Center, 1611 N. Hubert Avenue, Tampa, FL 33607, beginning September 12th through Oc- tober 17; Ella At Encore, 1210 Ray Charles Boulevard, Tampa, FL 33602, Septem- ber 15th through October 20th.
A program entitled, “A Matter Of Balance” Fall Pre- vention will be held at Fair Oaks Park Community Cen- ter, 5019 N. 34th Street, Tampa, FL beginning Sep- tember 13th through Novem- ber 1st. The program that will discuss strength and flexibil- ity will begin at 10 a.m.
The event is sponsored by Florida Hospital Carroll- wood, the Senior Connection Center, Inc., Calvary Com- munity Clinic, Goodwill, My Mobile Market, Feeding Tampa Bay, and Prink LINK, among others.
The workshop in East Tampa will take place at the Calvary Community Clinic, 3401 E. Louisiana Avenue, Tampa, FL 33610. The topic of the program is Living Healthy!
It will offer free health ed-
ucation, free health screen- ings, and free healthy pro- duce. The classes will begin on September 14th and end on October 19th. They will be held from 11:30 a.m. until 2 p.m.
