Darren McFadden Announces Retirement From NFL
Cavaliers Target Mid-December For Isaiah Thomas' Return
ISAIAH THOMAS
As if things haven't been going well enough for the streaking Cavaliers, they could soon be closer to full strength.
The Cavaliers are hoping to bring back Isaiah Thomas, who has been sidelined all sea- son with a hip injury, by mid- December in advance of their big Christmas Day clash with the Warriors. Windhorst re- ported that Thomas has begun to increase 3-on-3 work in practice toward that end.
Thomas, 28, was a key piece of the offseason trade that sent All-Star point guard Kyrie Irving to Boston. He averaged a career-high 28.9 points last season before the hip injury forced him to miss the final three games of the Eastern Conference finals.
Thomas has not played since, temporarily putting the aforementioned swap in doubt before the Cavaliers finally agreed to terms.
Even without Thomas, the Cavaliers have won nine straight games with the NBA's fourth-ranked offense at 109.8 points per 100 possession.

The Dallas Cowboys de- cided to release Darren Mc- Fadden over the weekend, and the running back is not planning to pursue a playing opportunity with another team.
On Tuesday, McFadden released a statement announc- ing that he has decided to re- tire from the NFL.

ing impact of the LeBron James Family Foundation’s “I Promise School” campaign aimed at keeping inner city students from falling through the cracks, reports Deadline.com.
The series will document the first year and spotlight teachers, mentors and com- munity partners as they build a curriculum and environment designed to give the kids a fighting chance. Principal pho- tography begins in Akron in the coming weeks.
“Being able to create this school to specifically meet the needs of these kids and their families means everything to me,” James said in a state- ment. “There are so many kids and families struggling and we want this school to be a safe, positive place that helps them stay on the right track to earn- ing their educations.”
Morgan Spurlock’s Warrior Poets and LeBron James and Maverick Carter’s SpringHill Entertainment are teaming up for the production.
After last season’s stupid shenanigans involving the Denver Bronco’s Aqib Talib and the Oakland Raiders’ Michael Crabtree in which Talib ripped Crabtree’s chain, this season’s rematch on Sunday produced a repeat of the same thing happening ... and more, unfortunately.
If you missed it, here’s what went down Sunday. Just four minutes into the game, Crabtree blocked Talib so hard that he forced Talib off the field and onto the ground. At that point Crabtree was swarmed by Denver players on the sideline, and the situation escalated into a full-on con- frontation between both teams, highlighted by a hel- metless Crabtree taking a right-handed swing at Talib in open field.

Additionally, the Raiders’ Gabe Jackson was also ejected for pushing an official.
Both the Broncos corner- back and the Raiders wide re- ceiver were suspended two games Monday for un-sports- manlike conduct and unneces- sary roughness.
Talib and Crabtree are appealing the suspensions.
