Organization To Host Financial Literacy Workshop

On Saturday, January 14th, residents are invited to attend a Financial Literacy Workshop. It is being co- sponsored by Hillsborough Community College and Solitas House.

CEO of the East Tampa Business & Civic Associa- tion said, “This event is open to anyone in the com- munity who would like to gain a better understanding of their personal finances. We are focusing on seniors in the community. How- ever, everyone can learn something at this workshop and we encourage you to at- tend.”
The event is part of the organization’s “Third An-
breakfast will begin at 9 a.m. The workshop will take place from 10 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.
In addition to the useful information that will be available for residents of all
ages, the organization will give away 100 bags of gro- ceries to senior citizens. And, there will also be door prizes given away as well.

Realtor Helps Spread Holiday Cheer At Event For Girls

Earlier this month, Ms. Alicia Henry and a group of volunteers treated a group of girls to a special treat. The event was held on December 4th at the Jazzy Jewels Salon, 8631 Gunn Highway. One of the participants who stepped in to make sure the girls had a special day was Ms. Janna Cantero.
A Tampa realtor, Ms. Cantero is also very famil- iar with “giving” this holi- day season. She was one of the sponsors for the event held by Ms. Henry, who is the owner of the Jazzy Jew- els Salon.
The girls received nu- merous gifts including a pair of holiday boots from Ms. Cantero.
The girls enjoyed a few hours of pampering receiv- ing princess makeovers and professional photo shoots courtesy of Jazzy Jewels & Meyer Inspired Photography.
“I love making young girls feel special about themselves. It's been a life- long dream of mine to mentor and help young girls find their personal greatness no matter their daily struggle,” Ms. Can- tero said.
