Answer ‘No’ to any Tax increases
A President Like Bundy
S ince Donald Trump first announced his plan to run for president, five years ago, I've probably written about him at least 50 times. In each instance I had to find new adjectives that best described all of the foul
characteristics he personified. Narcissist, bully, liar, racist, and overall jerk were just a few of the labels that seemed appro- priate depending on the situa-
tion.
Now, with the escalation of
the COVID-19 pandemic, he's earned an even darker moniker..... Serial Killer.
Of course, on the surface, it seems absolutely ridiculous to place the president of the United States in the same cate- gory with people like John Wayne Gacey, Charles Manson or Ted Bundy. But, when you look at the number of fatalities that have occurred as
a result of the spread of the Coronavirus because certain steps weren't implemented soon enough, it's hard not to view Trump's actions and in- actions as the primary murder weapons responsible for the carnage.
Out of the 160,000 people who have died thus far, I don't think it's a stretch to suggest that Trump is directly to blame for, at least, 1/3 of the deaths. And that's a low-ball estimate. Between him dismissing the virus as a non-threat for months, his insistence on tout- ing an unproven drug like Hy- droxychloriquine as a cure, his insane idea of washing the in- sides of our bodies with disin- fectant and his refusal to promote mask-wearing, Trump alone has done more to place people in harm's way than the virus could have ever ac-
complished on its own.
I say this because, as crazy
as it sounds, there are individu- als out there who still listen to Trump. To these misguided souls Trump is a god-like fig- ure whose words are as golden and true as the days are long during the Summer. They are willing to follow Trump's lead as faithfully and as mindlessly as the mice and children followed the Pied Piper and his flute in that old children's bedtime story. And, just like the victims in that fairytale, Trump's minions are blindly following him to their doom as well.
The sad thing is that Trump knows this, yet he re- fuses to wield his influence for the betterment of those who look up to him. And that, in my book, is what makes him as sadistic and cunning as the worst of madmen.
Though the blood on his hands may not be as visible as the sticky, red, plasma we're ac- customed to seeing in horror movies, the stains on his finger- tips are just as present.
