Free Professional Grant Workshops Planned

The Center for Non- Profit and Community De- velopment, Inc., will host two free professional work- shops.
On Tuesday, October 23rd, the topic will be: “How to start a 501 c3 nonprofit and how to fund it.” It will be held at the Robert W. Saunders Public Library, 1505 N. Ne- braska Avenue, 33602- 2849, from 1 p.m. until 3:30 p.m.
The second workshop will take place on Thurs- day, October 25th, from 1 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. It will also be held at the Robert W. Saunders Public Li- brary.
The first portion of the workshop will cover the main topic. Beginning at 2 p.m., those in attendance will discuss “Free Profes- sional Grant Writing Workshop.”
Those attending the workshop will learn:
- About the differ- ent Federal and State forms and applications required to form a 501 c3 corpora- tion;
About developing
your 5-year plan to attain funding and build your or- ganizational capacity;
- About what fun- ders consider when fund- ing an organization;
- About what fun- ders consider when fund- ing an organization; and
- About how to pre- pare a grant proposal.

Atty. Crump was the first African American to chair the Florida State Uni- versity College of Law’s Board of Directors and was the 73rd President of the Na- tional Bar Association. He is president and CEO of Ben Crump Law, PLLC, the 2014 NNPA Newsmaker of the Year, one of the National Trial Lawyers Top 100 and was named to Ebony Maga- zine’s Power 100 Most Influ- ential African Americans.
Atty. Crump has repre- sented and recovered mil- lions of dollars for clients in some of the most high pro- file cases in America: Trayvon Martin (killed by a neighborhood watch vol- unteer in Sanford, Florida); Michael Brown (killed in Ferguson, Missouri by a local police officer); and 10 of the 13 Black women who were victims in the Holtz- claw Oklahoma City Police rape case in 2015.

stowed the American Asso- ciation for Justice Johnny Cochran Award, the AKA Eleanor Roosevelt Medal- lion for Service, the NAACP Thurgood Marshall Award and the SCLC Martin Luther King, Jr. Service Leader Award. The University of Pennsylvania College of Law named him an Honorary Fellow. Atty. Crump and his former law partner, Daryl Parks, donated $1 million to the Board of Legal Services of North Florida.
Atty. Crump is the host of “Evidence of Innocence” on TVOne, “Who Killed Tupac, the Search for Jus- tice” on A&E, “Beating Jus- tice, the Martin Lee Anderson Case” and BET’s “I am Trayvon.” He has ap- peared on Fox’s “You the Jury” and regularly appears on NewsOne.com.
He writes the Crump Watch column and will por- tray Civil Rights Attorney Z. Alexander Lobby in the Hollywood production of the upcoming film, “Mar- shall.” Crump is married to Dr. Genea Algelique Crump. They are the par- ents of Brooklyn Zeta Crump and the legal guardians of Chancellor Isiah Crump and Jemar- cus Olajuwan Crump.
