   White Is Still Right
think it's safe to say that talk of the inevitable de- mise of white privilege within an American land- scape, that is steadily becom- ing more diversified, may have been slightly prema- ture. The confirmation of Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court, in spite of the allegations of sexual as- sault brought against him, proves that there is still a majority, in the highest posi- tions of power, who don't mind looking the other way if it means one of their ilk will be capable of upwardly ad-
vancing.
How else can you explain
Kavanaugh, during an era when movements like #MeToo and #Timesup have taken center stage inside of the zeitgeist, being granted the opportunity to sit on the nation's top bench and ren- der judgments upon others
while harboring such a shady background?
It is a blatant double- standard that becomes even more glaring in light of Bill Cosby, who faced similar al- legations, being currently in- carcerated inside of a Pennsylvania prison for his decades old misbehavior.
I guess it shouldn't be too surprising that a white p--- taker made it this far. After all, it was the white p---grab- ber-in-chief who selected him for the position.
Of course, some would at- tempt to suggest that Ka- vanaugh's whiteness had nothing to do with him mak- ing it to the high court con- sidering Justice Clarence Thomas, (who could be considered aesthetically Black on the outside), faced the same level of scrutiny about his character and still managed to get confirmed as
well. The difference is that the charges against Thomas pertained more to his sexist mentality than his potential criminality, as was the situa- tion with Kavanaugh.
It would be hard to imag- ine Thomas surviving the accusations Kavanaugh faced, particularly if they came from the lips of a Cau- casian female. If that were the case the "high-tech lynching" term that Thomas once used to de- scribe his Senate confirma- tion hearings would have included actual rope and a tree.
With his appointment, Kavanaugh becomes just the latest white man to ben- efit from the lack of color in his skin. The fact that it has happened shouldn't be a shock to anyone's system though. It is simply yet an- other way for the dominant society to show the rest of us that, when it comes to oper- ating on a balanced and fair playing field, we still don't have a damn thing coming.

     Why We Endorse Andrew Gillum
 For Governor
s there anyone in the State of Florida who doesn’t
know Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum is running for governor of that state? If so, here’s a wake-up call. However, who is he and why do people like former President Barack Obama flock to endorse him?
Here’s what one newspaper says about Gillum. Based on the recent political Primary Election, Gillum went from last to first to grasp the Democratic Party nod to run for governor. He did so by becoming the darling of millennial voters, senior citizens, and by thrilling political progressives by hammering home his blueprint to expand Medicaid to benefit everyone, his promise to eliminate GESTAPO-like immigration poli- cies, his intent to levy taxes on major corporations and the rich in order to help Florida’s lagging education budget as well as a bevy of other ideas which seemed to have renewed the imagination and resolve of most Floridians.
But most impressive is how Gillum has been able to stay within his budget to introduce his message and his face into the living rooms of every Florida household. Meanwhile, still smarting from a “monkey” comment, Gillum’s closest competitor stumbles as he draws for straws of support.
But there’s a not-so-secret weapon our native son possesses . . . a weapon so awesome that not one major paper has yet dared to reveal it. Simply stated, Andrew Gillum is not only imminently qualified, but he is the first Black gubernatorial candidate to represent a major political party since the 1870s Reconstruction.
And as such, he is heir-apparent to the supporting vote of every Black, Latino, Asian-American, Native American, Female, Senior Citizen, Gay/ Lesbian, Lib- eral white Progressive and otherwise registered diver- sity-group member voter in the state of Florida.
Who is Gillum’s adversary? It is the unregistered or non-voting voter. Therefore, we ask you to help make history. Join us by going to the polls and voting for An- drew Gillum for Governor of the State of Florida.
   Ready For Overflow
“When you realize there is nothing lacking, the whole world belongs to you.”
Lao Tzu
Empowered Greet- ings. I have declared that Oc- tober is the month of overflow. Overflow means to flow over the brim of a receptacle. To flow over or beyond the brim, the banks or the borders of
something or some place.
As your Life and Business Success Coach through this 60 Seconds On Success Col- umn, I want to help develop your mindset for the overflow that you are going to achieve in your ministry and your mis- sion. I want to empower you for overflow as it pertains to your personal relationships as well as those whom you are connected to in your business endeavors. It is my desire to elevate your mindset to be po- sitioned to receive overflow in your level of faith and your fi-
nances.
Many of you have been try-
ing to run and operate your business, ministry and organ-
izations from a place of lack. And because you have been operating from a place of lack so long, you have kicked in the mode of just trying to stay afloat. You're trying to make enough to keep you ‘Just Over Broke,’ instead of having a profitable business.
In essence you still have a J.O.B. because a job keeps you just over broke. Your mind has settled in on, what it sees and not on the possibility of what can be.
Listen, I have been going live on Facebook since the be- ginning of October for the pur- pose of those watching, liking and sharing those videos to develop a mindset that is going to undergo a shift from lack to overflow. I am going to keep talking about it. People are going to keep listening and hearing about overflow so much so until they can't help, but move from not enough to a more than enough mentality.
The question is, will you be a part of the movement? Are you ready to shift some Sugar Honey Ice Tea in your life?
You got to be ready to shift
from where you are right now to where you want to be, you have got to be ready to shift and see you’re already in that place of overflow.
Now is the time and this is the season to shift from think- ing small to taking the neces- sary steps for going big, if you're ever going to see your overflow.
If you are ready, then fol- low me on Facebook and join in the live discussions this month. Information on how to connect with me is below. Until next column get READY FOR OVERFLOW!
