Star Ballerina Misty Copeland Is On Top: Debuts On Broadway
Chris Brown Names Newest Album After Daughter
Chris Brown’s upcoming album will be named after his 15-month-old daughter.
On Saturday, the doting su- perstar dad made the an- nouncement on Twitter, writing, “MY NEW ALBUM WILL BE NAMED “ROY- ALTY.”
The sometimes-troubled singer has been vocal about how fatherhood has changed him; he’s happy he has some- one to ground him. “There comes a time when people kind of have to grow up and become more of an adult and take on

different responsibilities,” Chris told Ryan Seacrest this summer.
The album is headed by the single “Liquor.”
Nick Gordon
Visits Bobbi Kristina’s Grave
Taye Diggs introduced star ballerina, Misty Copeland to his cousin, Atty. Olu Evan. The two recently got engaged.
During happier times, Bobbi Kristina Brown and Nick Gor- don.
Bobbi Kristina Brown’s
family may have banned her boyfriend, Nick Gordon, from attending her funeral services, but he’s finally had the chance to say goodbye. A source confirms that Gordon has visited the late 22-year- old’s grave at Fairview Ceme- tery in Westfield, N.J.
Brown was buried next to her mother, Whitney Hous- ton, on Aug. 3. The aspiring singer died on July 26 after being in a medically induced coma for nearly six months. Bobby Brown’s daughter had been found facedown and unre- sponsive in her bathtub in her Atlanta-area home on Jan. 31.
A lawsuit first filed on June 24 by Bedelia Hargrove, Bobbi Kristina’s co-conser- vator, and amended after Bobbi Kristina’s death, al- leges that Gordon, 25, gave his girlfriend a “toxic cocktail” that left her “unconscious.” The suit also accuses him of then putting “her facedown in a tub of cold water, causing her to suffer brain damage.”
The lawsuit is seeking more than $10 million in damages.
Shortly after Bobbi Kristina’s death, Gordon’s mother, Michelle, issued a statement, saying that her son was devastated by his girl- friend’s passing. “Nick loved and cared for Krissi deeply, and he has suffered greatly each and every day they’ve been apart.”
Fetty Wap’s Chart Domination Is Best In 10 Years
Fetty Wap’s scorching hot summer is still not cooling down. The Jersey bred per- former has already made his- tory on the Hot 100 chart and Hot Rap chart, and Fetty just achieved another rare landmark on the top singles tally in the country.
According to Billboard, the hit maker became the first rap- per since Chingy in 2003-04 to have his first three songs enter the Top 10 on the Hot 100. Fetty’s “Trap Queen” peaked at #2 with “My Way” rising all the way to #7. His most recent smash “679” jumped to #8 this week.

Misty Copeland debuted on Broadway on Tuesday as Miss Turnstiles.
Star ballerina, Misty Copeland’s dance card is full. When she wasn’t performing with American Ballet Theatre (ABT), she toured with Prince, defied gravity on “Ar- senio,” wrote a memoir, men- tored younger dancers, made some memorable ads and, since being named American Ballet Theatre’s first African- American principal ballerina, has rarely been out of the spot- light.
What’s next? On Tuesday the 32-year-old made her Broad- way debut in “On the Town” as subway poster girl and aspiring dancer Miss Turnstiles.
Those who have seen her in action — in starring turns in “Swan Lake” and “The Fire- bird,” which she danced with six stress fractures in her left tibia — are sure she will be a big hit.
Copeland’s life has been a series of challenges. Growing up in L.A., she was one of six children raised by a single mother, a former professional cheerleader who stopped danc- ing when her children arrived.
Misty started late: She had her first ballet lesson, in a Boys & Girls Club gym, at 13. So ob- vious was her promise that her dance teacher took Misty under her wing and into her home — sparking an ugly cus- tody fight with Misty’s mom. In 1998, Copeland moved back in with her family, study- ing dance at Lauridsen Ballet Center.
She was 22 when she finally met her father. Her older
brother tracked him down years before, but Copeland says she waited until she was on her own to reach out, “and he’s now very much part of my life.”
Some two years before that, she’d met the man she’s set to marry: Olu Evans, a lawyer.
It was her good friend, actor Taye Diggs — Evans’ cousin — who introduced them.
A month ago, Evans pro- posed, presenting her with the cushion-cut diamond glittering on her finger.
Copeland says, none of the outside jobs take her away from ABT, whichi it the #1 pri- ority. If anything, she is trying to bring ballet to more people — that’s why she is doing these things. “I’m not a part-time ac- tress auditioning for a com- mercial. People approach me because they think my story’s important.”
And that story — about the singularity of being the sole Black dancer in a company for 10 years — has resonated with many women told they didn’t have the “right body” for classi- cal ballet. And that’s happened not only to Black women.
In September, Copeland will turn 33. She believes she has another eight to nine years before she’s ready to hang up her toeshoes.
For now, she’d like to be the best Miss Turnstiles she can be. Two days after her run ends, on Sept. 6 — the day “On the Town” closes — she’ll be back at ABT. She’s hoping to enjoy the run while it lasts.
Nicki Minaj Leaves $11K Dress Behind After Brother’s Wedding
Nicki Minaj left the $11,000 dress at the venue where her brother got married over last weekend.
Nicki Minaj left an $11,000 Emilio Pucci dress behind at a Nassau County wedding venue after her brother’s nup- tials on Saturday.
The hip-hop mogul had helped plan her older brother Jelani Maraj’s wedding on Saturday to Jacqueline Robinson at the Coral House on Milburn Lake in Baldwin, NY.
The star had arrived early to the wedding and headed to the bridal suite with her entourage to help the bride get ready, ac- cording to sources.
The “Anaconda” singer, who looked stunning in a plunging red dress, was seen looking emotional during the cere- mony, and stayed for the entire
reception, mingling with her family and hitting the dance floor until well past midnight.
But Minaj – who sources said didn’t want to upstage the bride on her big day – ended up leaving another show-stopping bronze sequined Pucci gown in a garment bag in the bridal suite, with the $11,000 price tag still attached.
Minaj’s stylist Rushka Bergman, who said she’d arranged for designers to loan the dresses for Minaj for the wedding, was “screaming on the phone” and demanding staff, who had already taken great care with the garment, “keep the dress locked up until she could send someone pick it up.”
