SISTER ALVERTIS WILLIAMS
Homegoing Services for Sister Alvertis Williams, who passed away on December 5, 2017, will be held Saturday, December 16, 2017, at 11 a. m. at New Progress M. B. Church, 3307 East Shadowlawn Av- enue, Tampa, FL 33610, Assis- tant Pastor Rev. C. R. Batchelor, officiating. Inter- ment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park.
Sister Alvertis Williams was born on April 3, 1927, in Round O, South Carolina to the late Garrett and Maude Chisolm. She grew up in South Carolina and as a young girl she met Jimmie Lee Williams and later they became hus- band and wife. To this union two children were born, one son, Talbert Williams and one daughter, Lou Mearl Williams-Kirby. Alvertis and Jimmie Lee later moved to Tampa, FL and made it their home for life.
Alvertis accepted Jesus Christ into her life at an early age and for over 50 years was a faithful member of New Progress Missionary Baptist Church, where she was a Dea- coness and served on Usher Board #1 and Choir #2.
She retired after 25 years of service from The University of South Florida Building Services.
On Tuesday December 5, 2017 Alvertis departed this earthly life peaceful for a home not made by man’s hands.
Alvertis was preceded in death by: her husband of 64 years, Deacon Jimmie Lee Williams.
She leaves to cherish her memories: one son, Talbert Williams (Jessie); and de- voted daughter, Lou Mearl Williams-Kirby; one grand- son, Garritt Williams; and 2 great grandchildren, all of Tampa, FL; devoted sister, Ruth Magwood, along with de- voted grandnephew, Roo- sevelt Ellis and grandniece, Renea Ellis; 4 brothers-in-law and 5 sisters-in-law with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and church family.
Visitation will be held this Friday evening from 6 p. m. until 8 p. m. at the church. The family will receive friends from 7 p. m. until 8 p. m.
The processional at the church on Saturday will as- semble at 10:45 a. m.

MRS. LULA FLOWERS BISHOP
Mrs. Lula Flowers Bishop of Tampa departed this life Fri- day, December 8, 2017. Fu- neral services will be conducted Friday, December 15 at 11 a. m. at Westside Com- munity Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 1803 E. Shadowlawn Avenue, with Pastor Byron J. Wells, officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Me- morial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Lula Flowers Bishop was a native of Brunswick, Georgia and a resident of Tampa for more than 80 years. She retired from the Univer- sity of South Florida as a Sup- port Service personnel and was a member of West Side Community Seventh-Day Ad- ventist Church.
Mrs. Bishop was preceded in death by: her parents, Willie and Julia Wilson; husband, Ulysses Bishop; and children, Elaine Scott and Homer Royal.
She leaves to mourn her passing: three children, Sylvia Royal, Carolyn Grant (Willie), and John Allen (Carolyn); grandchildren, Arthur Killins, Selena Hill, Wanda Brumfield, Willie Hill, Jr., Kevin Allen (Shamane), James Williams, Darlene Hill, Tanyana Alford, Julia Woodruff, Laverne Gar- ner, John Scott, Jr., Tyrone Scott and a host of great- grandchildren and devoted family members.

MR. ANTHONY GREGORY SIMONS, SR.
Mr. Anthony Gregory Si- mons, Sr. of Tampa passed away Tuesday, November 28, 2017. The Homegoing Celebra- tion will be held Saturday, De- cember 16, at 11 a. m. at First Baptist Church of Lincoln Gar- dens, 4025 W. Palmetto Street, with Reverend A. W. Greene, Pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Me- morial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Anthony Gregory Si- mons, Sr. was a native and life- long resident of Tampa, Florida. He was educated in the Public Schools of Hillsborough County, attended C. Leon King High School and later earned his G. E. D. Mr. Simons enlisted into the United States Army and served until his Honorable Dis- charge. He was employed as a Warehouse worker for the Tampa Veterans Administra- tion Warehouse.
Mr. Simons was a member of First Baptist Church of Lin- coln Gardens and was a faithful member of the Adult Sunday School Class. He loved garden- ing, landscaping, handyman/home projects, painting and drawing.
He was preceded in death by: his father, Albert E. Simons. He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Ester M. Si- mons; mother, Flora Harris; daughters, Nichole Simons- Harvey (Antoine) of Tampa, FL, Brandi Simons of Upper Marl- boro, MD and Brieana Simons of El Paso, TX; son, Anthony Si- mons, Jr.; 11 grandchildren; brothers, Floyd Harris, Wilton Simons (Katherine), Derrick Everett, and Ellis Everett (Kizuwanda); sisters, Florine Johnson and Jacqueline Si- mons; aunts, Louvenia Florence and Eldora Williams; uncle, Willie Harris, Jr.; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other sorrowing relatives and friends. MRS. MOEASE C. SMITH
Mrs. Moease C. Smith of Tampa, FL, passed away Tues- day, December 5, 2017. Funeral Services will be conducted on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 11 a. m. at Mt. Tabor Missionary Baptist Church, 2606 W. Grace Street, with Pastor T. D. Leonard, officiating.
Mrs. Moease C. Smith was a native of Winter Haven, Florida and a resident of Tampa for over 60 years. She attended the School District of Gadsden County and maintained a career as a Cosmetologist for over fifty years and was also employed at the Honeywell Corporation.
Mrs. Smith was a loyal and dedicated member of Mt. Tabor Missionary Baptist Church for over 50 years, where she faith- fully served until her health began to fail. She was actively involved in numerous min- istries, including Trustees, Choir #1, Ushers Ministry #2, Health Care (Nurses Guild), Mission In Action, and former president of the Golden Girls Ministry. She was very active in the Community as a participant with the Neighborhood Watch Program and the Friendly Club.
Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by: her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert and Edith Davis; brothers, Mr. Cecil Davis and Mr. Sterling Davis; sisters, Sis- ter Vivian Kelly and Sister Remell Moore (Johnny); and nephews, Mr. Cecil Kelly and Mr. David Kelly.
She leaves to cherish beauti- ful memories to: her loving and devoted daughter, Vivian F. Brown; nephews, Johnny E. Kelly (Nell), Harold R. Kelly (Olivia), Lucious H. Moore, and Kenneth L. Moore; nieces, Linda Parker, Johnnie A. Hus- ton, Priscilla K. Thornton, Francina Y. Reeves (Winston) and Vera Richardson, as well as a host of sorrowing grand nieces and nephews, cousins, other rel- atives and friends.

Mrs. Irma Aravella Truss of Tampa passed away, Friday, December 8, 2017. Funeral Services will be conducted Sat- urday, December 16, at 2 p. m. at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 N. Howard Av- enue, with Pastor Shellie D. Truss, officiating. Mrs. Irma Aravella Truss was a native of Tampa, Florida, born, July 1932. She attended Bethel Christian Center in Clair-Mel, FL with many loving brothers and sisters.
She was preceded in death by: her father, Ernest Allen; mother, Ellen H. Green; son, Sidney D. Truss; brother, Carl D. Allen (Ruby); and sister-in- law, Hattie Allen.
Irma leaves to mourn her passing: her beloved caretaker and husband of 63 years, Shel- lie D. Truss; brother, Clyde Allen; children, son, Dr. Eric Q. Truss (Glenda); daughters, Rhonda M.
