All The Jersey Numbers Of The Buccaneers 2020 Draft Class
Here is the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' 2020 Draft Class.
Jameis Winston Signs Deal With The Saints
The 2020 NFL draft is over, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers walked away with a top-ranked tackle in Iowa’s Tristan Wirfs that they hope can provide stabil- ity along the O-line to keep Tom Brady upright next season.
The Bucs also came away in round two with one of the class’ top safeties in Min- nesota’s Antoine Winfield, Jr. (No. 45 overall), address- ing their other major need, which was their secondary.
Here is a list of all seven
of the Bucs’ 2020 draft picks, as well as the new numbers they’ll be wearing in the NFL.
OT Tristan Wirfs, Iowa (No. 78)
S Antoine Winfield, Jr., Minnesota (No. 31)
RB Ke’Shawn Vaughn, Vanderbilt (No. 30)
WR Tyler Johnson, Minnesota (No. 18)
DT Khalil Davis, Ne- braska (No. 94)
OLB Chapelle Russell, Temple (No. 53)
RB Raymond Calais, Louisiana (No. 43)
Jameis Winston’s
most repeated phrases: minor setback for a major comeback.
And apparently, that’s what is behind his decision to restart his NFL career with the New Orleans Saints.
Winston is finalized a one-year deal with the Saints.
Barring an injury, it’s un- likely Winston will see much playing time in 2020. But this is expected to be the final season for Saints quar- terback Drew Brees.
Winston won’t be paid much money relative to the nearly $20.1 million he banked from the Bucs in 2019. The Saints have just over $5 million in salary-cap space, not even enough to sign their draft picks without making some cuts.
JAMEIS WINSTON
to sign with the Saints would signal willingness to take a step back in order to restart his career. Coming to the Saints high powered offense and defense will be a night- mare for the Bucs in the years to come. What a steal for the Saints and Sean Peyton.
Not only would he be joining a winning organiza- tion and the three-time de- fending NFC South champions, but he would have a year to be coached by Sean Payton, one of the best play-callers in the league.
Brees is 41 and expected to retire after playing his 20th season. He already has
a job waiting for him at NBC when he is done playing.
The Saints also tendered quarterback Taysom Hill a one-year, $4.7 million con- tract for 2020 that he hasn’t signed, even though the deadline passed for Hill to go elsewhere. Hill is ex- pected to start the season as the Saints No. 2 quarterback but is exposed to injury in his versatile role with the of- fense.
The backup quarterback market hasn’t been too ro- bust for Winston or former Panthers quarterback Cam Newton. It could pick up now that the NFL draft has been completed.
Winston led the NFL with 5,109 passing yards and had 33 touchdowns last sea- son, both career highs. But he also threw 30 intercep- tions and lost five fumbles, resulting in 112 points off turnovers. The Bucs were able to replace Winston with Tom Brady, who signed a two-year, $50 mil- lion contract. Which is a mistake in the long term for the Bucs.
But Winston’s decision O. J. Howard
StillDrawing Trade Interest From Patriots
Seahawks Still Open
To Re-Signing
O. J. HOWARD
Could the New England Pa- triots and Tampa Bay Bucca- neers end up swapping tight ends?
The Patriots are still inter- ested in Tampa Bay tight end O. J. Howard, according to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports.
Based on reports, the Patri- ots’ interest in Howard is not new. They reportedly tried to deal for him last season, but were turned down.
Howard has been some- thing of a disappointment since the Buccaneers drafted him in the first round. Last sea- son, he caught just one touch- down pass. The Patriots likely believe they could unlock his potential, as he’s still just 25.
Jadeveon Clowney
The Seattle Seahawks are still open to re-signing free agent Jadeveon Clowney.
Clowney was one of the bigger names on the free agent market, but his asking price was too high, which has led to him being unsigned a month into the new league year.
Seahawks GM John Schneider told reporters on a pre-draft call Tuesday that the team is still open to re- signing Clowney.
“We made an effort to re- sign him. The door is not closed, but we couldn’t wait

any longer, and so we had to conduct business,” Schnei- der said via NBC Sports Northwest’s Joe Fann.
