MARIO EDWARDS
Following a career-high four sacks in 2020 for the Chicago Bears, defensive end Mario Edwards agreed to a three-year deal with the Bears.
The new pact will see Ed- wards earn $11.55 million. Edwards will garner $4.5 mil- lion in his first year of the deal.
A 2015 second-round selec- tion by the Raiders, Edwards' six NFL seasons have seen him play for four teams.
Packers Keep Star Running Back Aaron Jones In Fold With 4-Year, $48M Deal
AARON JONES
The Green Bay Packers en- joyed their own version of March Madness on Sunday, pulling off a buzzer-beater to re-sign running back Aaron Jones on a blockbuster deal 24 hours before he entered free agency.
Jones will sign a four-year, $48 million contract that in- cludes a $13 million signing bonus, agent Drew Rosen- haus confirmed to Packers- News. ESPN was first to report the deal, minutes after Jones sent a tweet indicating he was staying with the team that drafted him.
Jones switched agents during last season, hiring Rosenhaus to negotiate his new deal. Rosenhaus made it clear the Packers star running back offered his team a home- town discount.
"We anticipated bigger of- fers in free agency," Rosen- haus said, "but Aaron wanted to stay with the Packers."

Even as trade rumors in- tensify around quarterback Russell Wilson, the Seattle Seahawks don’t appear to be batting an eye.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported that the Seahawks are fielding calls on Wilson. However, the team is not engaging or negotiat- ing, suggesting that they are still not serious about actively moving him.
“No one I’ve spoken with has said that Seattle has actu- ally engaged in any of these talks,” Rapoport said. “It

doesn’t seem like they have negotiated actively as far as a potential trade of Russell Wilson. They have listened, but they haven’t recipro- cated.”

Restructures Contract
Creating $8.7M In Cap Space
The New Orleans Saints have just restructured wide receiver Michael Thomas’ contract that has turned his 2021 base salary into a sign- ing bonus. The move has cleared an additional $8.7 million in cap space for the upcoming 2021 season. The restructure essentially kicks the can further down the road on Thomas and it makes him a near lock to be on the team next season.
Thomas’ 2020 season was a far cry from his 2019 performance. Many factors were involved that kept Thomas out for nine games and limited him to just 438 receiving yards. Namely a high ankle sprain and a fight in practice were the culprits.
The new restructure comes on the heels of an in-

credibly busy Wednesday and Thursday that saw multiple veterans on the team either restructure their contracts or get cut. Notable cuts as of now include receiver Em- mauel Sanders, punter Thomas Morstead, corner Janoris Jenkins and line- backer Kwon Alexander. All told, New Orleans now sits $15 million in the red against the 2021 salary cap.
