Police Search For Women Linked To Shootings
Police are currently searching for these women who are linked to a shooting that took place early last Thursday.

When asked where he had come from and where was he going, Philon reportedly an- swered, Tampa.
Philon reportedly failed a series of field sobriety tests and was taken into custody. He was transported to the Marion County Jail.
The deputy also deter- mined that the gas pump had been reported stolen in an- other report. The caller said a vehicle (matching the descrip- tion of Philon’s) had driven off with the pump handle still in the gas tank.
       Police are currently search- ing for three women. They are linked to a shooting that left four people injured last Sun- day.
According to the Hillsbor- ough County Sheriff’s Office, around 11 p.m., on March 14th, deputies responded to the parking lot of SD Banquet Hall, 10101 E. Highway 92 in refer- ence to someone being injured by gunfire.
When the deputies arrived, they discovered that four peo- ple had been shot. The four people were taken to a local hospital with all suffering from non-life threatening injuries.
During the investigation that took place, detectives learned that a victim had been
engaged in a verbal altercation with three unknown Black women that turned physical.
A short time later, the three women got into a white sedan. As the car passed by the victim, a passenger fired several shots from the vehicle, striking the victim and three others. The suspects then fled the scene westbound on Highway 92.

JOSTHIN MOLINA CORNEJO
A teenager is facing charges after he allegedly intentionally struck another person with his vehicle. The incident took place near the intersection of N. 15th Street and E. 151st Avenue.
Witnesses told police that Josthin Molina Cornejo, 17, and another individual were ar- guing inside the vehicle. At some point, the victim got out of the vehicle and began walking east- bound on 151st Avenue.
The witnesses said they heard Cornejo rev up the en- gine of the car, then drive to- ward the victim, ultimately striking him with the car. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
Cornejo was taken into cus- tody and charged with at- tempted murder in the second-degree and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

Last week, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office ar- rested a Tampa man. He was charged with possession of marijuana and DUI.
According to police, offi- cers were called after a vehicle was observed with its head- lights on in a handicap park- ing slot. The caller told police the vehicle had been parked in front of the RaceTrac station at 1525 SW Highway 484 for more than 30 minutes.
When deputies arrived at the location around 3 a.m., they reportedly observed De- vauntay Alcantay Philon passed out with a broken gas pump handle from another station hanging out of his gas tank.
The deputy reportedly asked Philon to roll down his window to talk with him and Philon reportedly rolled down the other windows, while having trouble rolling down the driver’s window.
The deputy asked Philon to step out of the vehicle and helped him open the door and get out of the vehicle. The deputy also said he smelled

  Man Faces Upgraded Charges After Store Clerk Dies
 A 35-year-old man i s now facing upgraded charges after a convenience store em- ployee dies. The clerk died on March 7th.
According to the Lakeland Police Department, on Janu- ary 29th, Mandel Baker was arrested and was charged with felony battery with great bod- ily harm. The victim was an employee at a convenience store.
Lakeland Police said that on January 29th, shortly after 5:30 p.m., police were called to the Food Mart/Mobil Gas Sta- tion, 1615 W. Memorial Blvd. When the officers arrived, they found an adult man lying mo- tionless on the floor with a lac- eration to his head.
According to a witness, a

man, later identified as Man- del Baker, had been in the store asking for cigarettes for payment at a later date. The clerk told him no and Baker reportedly approached an- other store employee with the same request and was told no again.
Baker is alleged to have ran toward the employee, punching him in the face. The 58-year-old victim fell back- wards and hit his head hard on the floor. His injury was con- sidered a critical, life-threaten- ing injury. The victim was transported to Lakeland Re- gional Health, where he was listed in critical condition.
The victim remained hospitalized and never re- gained consciousness. An au- topsy listed his cause of death as trauma to the head, and the manner of death has been clas-
sified as a homicide.
Baker, 35, was arrested
shortly after the incident. He is now facing manslaughter. He is currently at the Polk County Jail.
