Bucs Stay Home For Division Opener Vs. Falcons Sunday; Should Win Easily
Saints Agree To Record-Setting Contract Extension With Marshon Lattimore
MARSHON LATTIMORE
Marshon Lattimore has agreed to a five-year contract extension with the New Or- leans Saints that sets a new record for total guaranteed money ($68.3M), just minutes after Lattimore led the Saints secondary to a dominant 38-3 win over Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers.
Lattimore’s new deal in- cludes escalators that raise its value up to $100M, though its base value is $97.6M. That’s an average of $19.52M per year, clocking in just ahead of Balti- more Ravens corner Marlon Humphrey ($19.5M per year).

JAMEIS WINSTON
The Tampa Bay Bucca- neers kicked off the entire 2021 NFL season with a 31- 29 victory over the visiting Dallas Cowboys on Thursday night, and were be rewarded with a weekend of rest before heading into Week Two.
The Buccaneers will be staying home next weekend, too, as the Atlanta Falcons come to Raymond James Stadium on Sunday, Septem- ber 19 for the first NFC South matchup of the year.
The Buccaneers were able to do a little 'TV scouting' Sunday when those Falcons
took on the Philadelphia Ea- gles in Atlanta for their sea- son opener.
Atlanta heads to Tampa next week with a record of 0- 1, the intra-division game will be intense, as Bucs-Falcons matchups usually are. It will also be a chance for the Fal- cons, who are looking to bounce back into playoff con- tention under new Head Coach Arthur Smith, to test themselves early against the defending Super Bowl champions.
The Buccaneers should win this easily, 30-17.
Teddy Bridgewater
When the Tampa Bay Buc- caneers play the New Orleans Saints later this season, they might have some problems going up against the all-time leading passer in franchise history.
Jameis Winston holds most of the passing records in Bucs history, but he’s suiting up for their NFC South rivals now after five seasons in Tampa Bay.
The former No. 1 overall
pick was impressive in his first start for the Saints, leading them to a shocking 38-3 blowout win over Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers, tossing five touch- down passes in the victory.
Winston threw plenty of touchdown passes throughout his time in Tampa Bay, but Sunday, he was able to avoid the turnovers that plagued him with the Bucs and eventu- ally led to his departure.

 Dominates In Seahawks’
 28-16 Win Over Colts;
   TEDDY BRIDGEWATER
The Teddy Bridgewater era is off to successful start.
For the first time in nearly three years, the Broncos have a winning record after a 27-13 win over the New York Giants — and Bridgewater played a major role.
In his first start with the Broncos, Bridgewater com- pleted 28-of-36 passes for 264 yards and two touchdowns as Denver pieced together a series of long drives and overcame a first-half deficit to earn the win.
Bridgewater deftly navi- gated the offense to help the Broncos beat back the Giants and earn their first season- opening win since 2018.
The Broncos should get their second win against the Jacksonville Jaguars Sunday at 1 p.m.
Another year, another season opening win on the road for the Seattle Seahawks (1-0).
Russell Wilson threw four touchdown passes, in- cluding a pair to Tyler Lockett, and the defense re- peatedly harassed Carson Wentz and got timely stops on their way to a 28-16 win over the Indianapolis Colts (0-1) at Lucas Oil Stadium. Wentz remains winless against Seattle and after a bright start, him and the rest of the Colts offense really could not sustain drives on a consistent basis.
Seattle unfortunately did suffer several injuries, which you can read in the injury re- port. Otherwise it’s hard not to be encouraged by how the Seahawks performed. The run defense held up, the
RUSSELL WILSON
rushing offense looked good, the passing offense looked as great as advertised under new OC Shane Waldron, and special teams did its job.
The Seahawks play an- other back to back tough game Sunday against the Tennessee Titans at 4:25 p.m.
