 Man Injured In East Tampa Shooting Dies
Man Gets 4 Years In Prison For Dealing Drugs

Last week, a federal judge sentenced a St. Petersburg man to more than 4 years in prison. He pleaded guilty to federal charges on June 2, 2021.
District Judge Susan C. Bucklew sentenced 48-year- old Cedric Tonesy Mount to 33 months in federal prison for possessing with the intent to distribute controlled sub- stances, and 24 months in prison for violating supervised release. The Court ordered the sentences to be served consec- utively. Mount was also or- dered to serve an additional 6 years of supervised release.
According to court docu- ments, on January 9, 2019, Mount began a three-year term of supervised release after serving a federal prison sentence for distribution of co- caine.
On January 26, 2020, po- lice officers responded to an apartment complex to investi- gate complaints that Mount was selling drugs from a vehi- cle parked near the apart- ments. As officers approached Mount’s vehicle, another in- dividual yelled, “Look out! Po- lice!”
Officers saw Mount hold- ing a small box with a plastic baggie sticking out of it. Offi- cers searched Mount, the small box, and the vehicle and found several plastic baggies containing various substances.
Subsequent testing deter- mined that the substances in the baggies contained crack cocaine, cocaine, heroin, fen- tanyl, methamphetamine, and marijuana. The officers also recovered two scales and a gas mask that had been converted into a marijuana bong from in- side the vehicle.
Gunshot Victim Found Beside Street Dies
The unidentified man was discovered on the side of the road at 1715 N. 50th Street early Saturday morning.
      Detectives are currently investigating to determine who is responsible for a shooting that ended in death. The incident took place shortly after 2 p.m., Friday, in the 2900 block of N. 17th Street.
According to police, Tampa P0lice officers re- sponded to the location in reference to a shooting. When they arrived at the lo- cation, they discovered an adult man was apparently suffering from gunshot
wounds.
The unidentified victim
was transported to a nearby hospital, where he died as a result of his in- juries. No additional infor- mation was released at press time.

Detectives with the Tampa Police Department are cur- rently investigating a fatal shooting. The incident took place early Saturday morn- ing.
According to police, offi- cers responded to 1715 N. 50th Street in reference to a gun- shot victim. When the officers arrived shortly after 5 a.m., they discovered a gunshot victim on the ground beside N. 50th Street.
The unidentified 33-year- old man was transported to a local hospital, where he died as a result of his injuries. No additional information was released at press time.

  Man Wanted For Murder Arrested In Miami
 A 33-year-old St. Peters- burg man has been arrested and charged in connection with a murder. The suspect was located in Miami.
According to the police, last Friday, officers received information of a deceased man at the Cortland Gateway Apartments, 9505 49th Street, North around 1 a.m.
The Pinellas Park Police and St. Petersburg Police re- ceived the information at about the same time.
In partnership, both agen- cies dispatched officers to the scene. Upon arrival, the offi- cers located a deceased man later identified as 31-year-old Dravode McDade, who was determined to be the vic- tim of the homicide in Pinellas Park. Pinellas Park Police Department detectives conducted an extensive inves- tigation and the suspect of the homicide was identified as Rodney Sales.
An arrest warrant was ob- tained for Sales and it was

determined that he had fled to the Miami area. The Miami-Dade Police Depart- ment arrested Sales for first degree murder based on the arrest warrant. He will be ex- tradited to Pinellas County.
