Around 9 p.m., on the night of Sunday, August 22nd, shots were fired from one vehicle into another. One of those shots claimed the life of a 4- year-old who was sitting in her car seat.
Since that time, Tampa Po- lice have been attempting to gather information that would lead them to a viable suspect. No one has been taken into custody in connection with the murder of 4-year-old Suni Bell.
Mayor Jane Castor, In- terim Police Chief Ruben Delgado, and detectives working the case have asked the community to come for- ward with information. Days after the murder, officers dis- tributed flyers in the surround- ing neighborhoods of where the murder took place.

A Brandon man was sen- tenced to life in prison in con- nection with drug charges related to a death. He was found guilty by a federal jury on June 7, 2021.
U. S. District Judge Susan C. Bucklew handed down the lengthy sentence to Christopher A. Defilippis, 43, for distributing fentanyl resulting in death and pos- sessing with the intent to dis- tribute fentanyl.
According to testimony and evidence presented at trial, between March and April 2020, Defilippis dis- tributed heroin and fentanyl in Hillsborough County.
On April 17, 2020, Defil- ippis distributed fentanyl, which caused a fatal overdose.
Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office deputies began surveillance on Defil- ippis and, on April 18, 2020, the day after the fatal over- dose, observed him distribut- ing narcotics throughout Hillsborough County. Law en-

forcement officers arrested Defilippis and found him to be in possession of fentanyl, cocaine, and packaging con- sistent with distribution.
The Hillsborough County Medical Examiner’s Office conducted an autopsy and de- termined that the use of the fentanyl had caused the vic- tim’s death. Lab analysis also determined that the fentanyl mixtures obtained near the victim were all very similar to the narcotics seized from De- filippis.
