Mr. McDuffie was a native of Tampa, and resident of Tampa for 53 years. He attended the public schools of Hillsborough County and was a graduate of Tampa Bay Vo-Tech High School. Bernard McDuffie was a man of humble beginnings. He was raised by his loving aunts and cousins in Tampa, FL. As an inquisitive youth, Mr. McDuffie would intake information and knowledge on various subjects, to recall them at later times.
Most people who have met Bernard would agree that he was blessed with the ‘gift of gab.’ He could speak and form beautiful sentences, all while selling you the shirt on your back. As a budding man, Bernard sold shoes, vacuums, cars and even homes through- out the Tampa Bay. His quick wit, and abundance of knowl- edge served him well. Bernard was an outstanding father who was concerned about his chil- dren at all times. From the be- ginning to the end, he provided a gentle listening ear, sound ad- vice, firm guidance, and a con- tinuous source of love.
Bernard McDuffie leaves be- hind to cherish his memory: his wife, Andrea; children, C. J, Jamal and Kayla; his grandchil- dren, Amiyah and Nylah Buc- knor; his elders, Joe and Jessie Starks, and Liona Coates; his cousins, Lawanna James, John and Ondria Bryant, Byron Bryant, Reeche Starks, Tony Pressley, Shelia Pressley, Khadi- jah, Thomas, Penny, Vernon and Vincent White, Leroy, Jr. and Shondra Vann; his nieces and nephews, Horace Eldemire, Jade Vadnos, Jupiter Vadnos, Omar Warren, Jr., Danny Rus- sell, Chenault Starks, Donta Walker, Davanta Walker, An- thony Pressley, Crystal Mangol, and Ashely Mangol; and he also leaves behind a host of loved ones to include, Omar and Opal Warren, Chris and Natasha Mangol, Lori Jenkins, James Nash, and Stacey Baxter.
