Earlier this week, Mayor Jane Castor ap- pointed a new City Attorney. Attorney Gina Grimes will begin her new role on August 12. She is replacing Attorney Sal Territo, who will remain in the City’s Legal De- partment after he steps down.
Mayor Castor said, “Gina is a formidable attor- ney with decades of experi- ence in both the public and private sector. Her innova- tive approach to running the city’s legal department will enable us to increase com- munication and improve city services, while ensuring that

Attorney Grimes said, “It will be an honor to serve as City Attorney - and it’s even more meaningful to me because I began my career in the City Attorney’s Office in 1985 as a law clerk.
“After practicing law in the private sector for the last 15 years, I am returning to public service because Mayor Castor has a vision- ary plan in place for govern- ing and streamlining city services to ensure Tampa’s continued success. I look for- ward to working with Mayor Castor, City Council and the Tampa residents.”
