   Bethune-Cookman Alumni Association To Hold Legacy Luncheon
 The Hillsborough County Alumni Chapter of Bethune-Cookman Uni- versity National Alumni Association, will hold its Second Annual Legacy Luncheon honoring Legacy Alumni in the chapter, along with a “Com- munity Award” for a citizen who ex- emplifies excellence in service in Hillsborough County.
“This year we honor Mrs. Gwen Hayes, and alumni Molbert Scrivens (c/o 68); James Mc- Carty, Sr. (c/o 68) and Andra Diggs (c/o 71). We also recognize our 2018 Future Miss B-CU, Na’Ya- nia Johnson, granddaughter of Mr. James McCarty, Sr.,” stated Dr. Davina Jones, Luncheon Chairperson.
All proceeds go towards the scholarship endowment for B-CU Hillsborough County students. The endowment goal is $250,000 via pledges from alumni and support- ers.

Last year’s entertainment is back by popular demand, Comedian Rod- Z and live music by Zeb McKinon.
“We had a blast last year at our scholarship luncheon. It was great success. We are excited to do it again!,” Dr. Jones said.
   Free Professional Grant Workshops Planned
 The Center for Non-Profit and Community Development, Inc., will host three free professional work- shops this month. All workshops will begin at 1 p.m. and conclude at 3:30 p.m.
On Tuesday, March 26th, the topic of the first workshop is, “How To Start A 501 C3 Nonprofit.” The second half of the workshop will be a “Free Professional Grant Writ- ing Workshop.”
It will take place at the Children’s Board of Hillsborough County, 1002 East Palm Avenue, Tampa, 33605.
The second workshop will be held on Thursday, March 28th. The topic of the first half of the workshop is, “How To Start A 501 C3 Non- profit.” The second half of the pro- gram will be a “Free Professional Grant Writing Workshop.”
It will be held at the West Tampa Branch Library, 2312 W. Union Street, Tampa, 33607.
The third workshop will be held on Friday, March 29th. The topic of the first half of the workshop is, “How To Start A 501 C3 Non-
profit.” The second half of the workshop will be a “Free Profes- sional Grant Writing Work- shop.”

Those attending the workshop will learn about:
The different federal and state forms and applications required to create a 501 c3 corporation; develop- ing your 5-year plan to attain fund- ing and build your organizational capacity; what fun- ders consider when funding an or- ganization; and what funders consider when funding an organiza- tion; and How to prepare a grant proposal.
