Miss Teenage Tampa Appreciation Luncheon Honors
Longtime Sorority Member
The 2019 Miss Teenage Tampa Appreciation Luncheon will honor Mrs. Sandra Davis Myers, a 34-year member of the Gamma Theta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
The luncheon will be held on Sunday, March 24, 2019, 2019, 2 p. m., at the Embassy Suites Hotel (USF), 3705 Spec- trum Blvd. Doors will open at 1:30 p. m. (See advertisement in this issue.)
She has been a member of the Miss Teenage Tampa Advi- sory Board since joining Gamma Theta Omega.
MRS. SANDRA DAVIS MYERS ...Miss Teenage Tampa Appreciation Luncheon Honoree
She currently serves as
chairman of the Awards and Flowers Committee. For many years, she drove the winner of the Miss Teenage Tampa in the MLK Parade. She has contin- ued that service by now driving the Grand Marshals in the pa- rade.
Mrs. Myers has been an active member of the sorority since becoming a member. She has been an officer, served on several committees, partici- pated in Founders’ Day cele- brations, AKA Day at the Capitol, South Atlantic Re- gional Conference, Cluster II Conference, International Leadership Seminars, Interna- tional Boules and post-Boule trips. She is a Silver Star, Life Member and has been recog- nized as a “Soror in the Spot- light.”
A retired Administrator of the Hillsborough County School District after 37 years of service, Mrs. Myers is also very active in her community. She is a member of Beulah Baptist Institutional Church, where she served on several auxiliaries; Hillsborough County Democratic Executive Committee, Hillsborough County Democratic Black Cau- cus, Hillsborough Association of School Administrators, Re- tired and Proud, Inc., and many other affiliations.
After the passing of her late husband, Julius Davis, of 40 years, she was once again united in Holy Matrimony on Valentine’s Day, 2018, to Jimmy Andre Myers.
Nathalie B. Ayers is the Luncheon Chairman, Tangela Dupree is the General Chair- man, and Deborah K. Barnes is President of Gamma Theta Omega Chapter.
