Grad Recognized For 13 Years Of Perfect Attendance
BY IRIS B. HOLTON Sentinel City Editor
Recently, Kristal Hill, a member of the International Baccalaureate Program, was among her peers during the graduation ceremony of Robinson High School. The graduation was held on Wednesday at the Florida State Fairgrounds.
Kristal has several ac- complishments in which she can be proud. She was an honor student, with a 6.1 grade point average, and she is a member of the National Honor Society, Science Honor Future Doctors of America, History Honor So- ciety, Spanish Honor Society, and the National Society of High School Scholars.
However, she can brag about something few others can, Kristal never missed a day from school since Kindergarten. That’s 13 years

of attending school every day. The Hillsborough County School District paid tribute to her achievement onMay15th.Sheis1of5,and the only African American, who will compete to win a car in a drawing on June 5th. The
car is being offered by Toyota of Tampa Bay.
Kristal is the daughter of Pastor Parrish and First Lady Zunia Hill. She has one brother, Parrish, who is 14. She is a member of Spirit and Truth Worship Center, Church of God In Christ, where her father is the senior pastor.
She credits her inspira- tion from being very involved in church as a Youth Leader, Singer, and Liturgical Dancer. “My relationship with God continues to grow stronger as it is built on my favorite Scripture, Philippi- ans 4:13, which states, ‘I can do all things through God who strengthens me.’
“When I feel discouraged, I bring myself to this Scrip- ture because it gives me reas- surance that God will help me through every situation I face as it molds me to be- come the young woman I am meant to be.”
A student at heart, Kristal spends much of her time studying. She plans to become an Emergency Room Physician and will begin her training at the University of Central Florida in the fall.
“The foundation of my goals was built as I discov- ered my willingness to help others. Throughout high school, I have involved my- self in volunteering programs which have shown me the importance of helping the community and establishing my appreciation for things that others may not be fortu- nate enough to have,” she said.
In her spare time, Kristal enjoys singing, church, and spending time with her family and friends.
Hillsborough County Offers Summer Food Program
Hillsborough County will once again participate in the Summer Food Service Pro- gram. The program provides free nutritious lunches and afternoon snacks to children at more than 50 sites throughout the county.
In an effort to make sure no child goes without a meal, this year’s program will begin on Tuesday, May 29th, and end on Friday, August 3rd.
The Summer Food Service Program will provide a bal- anced meal during summer vacation when school meals are not available. The meals and snacks will be offered at local parks and other commu- nity locations to children under the age of 18.
The Summer Food Service program is funded by the U. S. Department of Agriculture and administered locally by Hillsborough County’s Aging Services. The department has expanded its “More than a
