Caucus in Washington
D. C. on Thursday, May 24th.
U. S. Congress- woman Kathy Castor hosted a Children’s Health Care Caucus in Washing- ton, D. C. on Thursday. En- titled, “A Conversation on Reducing Maternal and In- fant Mortality,” the 1-hour luncheon event was held in the Rayburn Building.

President/CEO of REACHUP, Inc., was one of three panelists on the podium. Stacey D. Stew- art, President, March of
Dimes, was the Moderator. The purpose of the event was to gain insight into the issue of maternal and infant mortality in the United States. The panelists ad- dressed policies in place to support moms during their pregnancy and make sure
babies are born healthy. REACHUP, Inc. is a Tampa nonprofit organiza- tion focused on advocating for and mobilizing re- sources to help Tampa Bay communities achieve equality in healthcare and positive health for families, and ways to reduce mater-
nal and infant mortality. Anyone who knows Lo Berry, knows that she has a passion for maternal and infant health. The hectic schedule that keeps her on the go, is all to help moms

Pregnancy-related deaths have more than dou- bled over the past 25 years in the United States, and African American women have maternal death rates over three times higher than women of other races. We are building consensus for action in Congress to improve the prospects in America for moms and ba- bies. America should not be falling behind other coun- tries.”
