Ava DuVernay Barbie Doll Sold Out
Kanye And Kim Name Their Son ‘Saint’
Kanye and Kim are the par- ents of a new baby boy.
Kanye West and his wife have finally named their new- born baby son.
Their son, who was born three days ago, has been named Saint. The West family had to name the boy before his mother could be released from the hos- pital.
The Wiz Live To Be Released On DVD Dec. 22nd

NBC’s The Wiz Live! was a hit. The broadcast brought in 11.5 million viewers and set a Nielsen Twitter record as the most tweeted special program. Viewers will soon be able to own a copy of the show.
December 22, 2015, The Wiz Live! will be released on DVD. The modern remake of the Tony winning 1975 Broadway play stars Queen Latifah, Mary J. Blige, Common, Ne-Yo, David Alan Grier, Stephanie Mills, Elijah Kelley, and Shanice Williams as Dorothy. Kenny Leon was the director.
The Wiz Live! also earned fa- vorable reviews. It was consid- ered a major improvement from the previous NBC live adaptations of Sound Of Music and Peter Pan. Both of those productions were universally panned.
Ava DuVernay is the direc- tor of the movie ‘Selma’.
In April, Mattel launched its Sheroes collection of Bar- bies, which celebrates women who have inspired girls by breaking boundaries. Included in the collection was a doll de- picting Ava DuVernay, di- rector of the critically acclaimed film Selma.

be purchased on the Barbie Collection site. The doll wasn’t originally going to be mass- produced, but DuVernay’s fans spoke and Mattel lis- tened.
On Sunday, DuVernay tweeted the good news and let folks know where the proceeds will end up.
According to reports, the doll has sold out.

Nicki Minaj’s Brother Arrested And Charged With Raping A 12-Year-Old

Back in August, Nicki Minaj was celebrating her brother Jelani Maraj's mar- riage to his longtime girlfriend on Instagram, but now Maraj is back in the limelight, having been accused of raping a 12- year-old girl.
Maraj was arrested last Tuesday in Nassau County on
Long Island, N.Y., and charged with first-degree rape and first- degree "course of sexual con- duct" against a child.
He was released on $100,000 bail. Minaj has expressed how much she adores Maraj, so no doubt she is reeling over this news. Maraj is expected back in court Dec. 9.
Morgan Freeman’s Private Jet Had To Crash Land After Blowing A Tire
A private jet carrying Oscar- winning actor Morgan Free- man on last Saturday had to make a forced landing after the plane blew a tire on takeoff in Mississippi.
Freeman 78, and the pilot were the only ones aboard the plane, and were uninjured in the accident that occurred upon takeoff from Clarksdale, Miss. The plane landed a short distance away at Tunica Air- port, about 40 miles southwest of Memphis, Tenn.
The actor was en route to Houston to shoot a segment for the series The Story of God, Freeman said in a statement distributed by his publicist, Stan Rosenfield.
“Sometimes things don’t go as planned and a tire blew on takeoff which caused other

problems,” the statement says. “But thanks to my excellent pilot Jimmy Hobson we landed safely without a scratch. I can- not say the same about my plane,” Freeman said. “I appre- ciate the concern and prayers for our safety.”
Kendrick Lamar woke up Tuesday morning to 11 Grammy nominations. The rapper is in the running for 11 awards, including Album of the Year for To Pimp a Butter- fly and Song of the Year for “Alright.”
Included in Lamar’s nomi- nations are Best Rap Album for Butterfly; Best Rap Per- formance for “Alright”; Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for “Bad Blood,” with Taylor Swift; and Best Dance Record- ing for “Never Catch Me,” with Flying Lotus.
Lamar also received two nominations for Best Rap Song—one for “Alright” and one with Kanye West for “All Day”—and Best Music Video for “Alright” and “Bad Blood.
Joining Lamar in racking up nominations is The Weeknd, whose nominations include Best Pop Solo Per- formance for “Can’t Feel My Face” and Best Urban Con- temporary Album for Beauty. His Fifty Shades of Grey song, “Earned It,” was nominated for Best R&B Performance,

Best R&B Song and Best Song Written for Visual Media.
This year’s most anticipated comeback album, Black Mes- siah, by D’Angelo was nomi- nated for Best R&B Album, with a song from the album, “Really Love,” nominated for Record of the Year.
And everyone’s favorite Dad Dancer, Drake, has a couple of nominations under his belt, including Best Rap Album for If You’re Reading This Its Too Late.
The Grammys are set to air live Feb. 15.
2 Chainz Visits Disable Vet For Holidays; Offers To Pay Rent For A Year
Rapper 2 Chainz visits with disabled vet Diedre Plater and her son.
Atlanta rapper 2 Chainz is spreading the holiday spirit through his charity, TRU Foundation. 2 Chainz visited a family in Palmetto, Ga., and surprised disabled veteran Diedre Plater and her son.
Due to a recent surgery, Plater has been having a hard time finding a job this past year, and 2 Chainz wanted to help her out.
2 Chainz told the family that he would supply furniture for Plater’s apartment, as well
as pay the rent for the entire year.
"It's hard to keep gas in the car, food in the house and do everything by myself being a single parent. I am on a fixed income," Plater said. "I love to see stuff like this happen for other people, but I never thought it would happen to me."
2 Chainz is using the pro- ceeds from his "Ugly Christ- mas Sweater" line to help Plater as well as other families this holiday season.
