Coupled Indicted On Tax Fraud, Identity Theft Charges
REGINA IVY ARTIS
Happy birthday, Mother.
You’re sadly missed by: your mother, Eloyce Stone; your loving sons, Antwon, Arvel and Aaron Wesley; and brothers and sister. We love and miss you dearly!
Two Gibsonton residents were indicted on fed- eral charges last week. The Court notified the cou- ple that it is also seeking $767,398, determined to be the proceeds of the crime.
According to court documents, Ms. Ynessa Brown and Thelonious Robertson were both charged with 10 counts of wire fraud, 1 count of conspiracy to commit tax fraud, and 5 counts of ag- gravated identity theft.
Ms. Brown was also charged with 2 counts of filing false tax returns. She is accused of filing fraudulent tax returns in her own name in 2011 and
2012, and claimed more than $18,000.
Officials said between January 2012 and June 2013, Ms. Brown and Robertson had and used stolen identities, including those of deceased peo- ple, to electronically file false federal income tax re-
turns.
Police said they directed the funds to debit
cards that were sent directly to Ms. Brown and Robertson, as well as to their family, friends, and vacant addresses.
No trial date has been set for Ms. Brown or Robertson.
Man Pleads Guilty To Counterfeiting Charge
A 35-year-old Tampa man entered a guilty plea last week to the federal charge of counterfeiting. The courts have not set a date for sentencing.
According to a plea agreement, in November and December of 2014, Darius Jondi Edwards used a computer to manufacture Federal Reserve notes in the amounts of $10, $20, and $100. He then gave them to his co-defendant, Timothy Deante Burroughs, 32, of Jacksonville.
The two men then passed the forged bills at var- ious businesses in Jacksonville.
Burroughs attempted to pass a $100 at a Pub- lix in Jacksonville, but fled the scene after being confronted by store employees.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office located Bur- roughs at a nearby motel. A search of the room re- sulted in the recovery of additional counterfeit $100. The deputies also located Edwards in front of another motel. During a search of his room, of- ficers located sheets of uncut counterfeit bills rang- ing in denominations from $1 to $100.

Baby, it’s been 4 years today since the Lord called you away. He knew you were in so much pain and wanted you to come home and rest with Him and your other family.
Although it’s been 4 years Honey, it seems like yesterday. We miss the hugs and kisses and the love will never go away. Love always and forever: Mom, brothers, sisters, niece,
nephew and family.
Four Indicted In Federal Court For String Of Armed Robberies
Police also located several bleached genuine $10 bills printed as counterfeit $100 bills. Police also recovered several computers and printers used by Edwards to manufacture the counterfeit bills.
Burroughs was sentenced to 21 months in federal prison on October 20, 2015.
