Bruce Arians Angry At Bucs’ Offensive Line
Andrew Luck On
Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach Bruce Arians de- scribed his offensive line in a very Bruce Arians-like way after Friday night’s preseason game.
Asked how his offensive linemen played in the game against the Browns, Arians was succinct.
“They got their ass kicked one-on-one. Simple,” Arians said.
The Buccaneers’ starting offense struggled mightily,
yards and getting sacked five times as they were shut out in the first half. The backups played a bit better in the sec- ond half, but Arians made clear that he’s unhappy with the way the guys who will be on the field in Week One played.
Those guys won’t play in the final preseason game, and they’ve got a lot of work to do to be ready for the regular- season opener against the 49ers.
Football: 'It Hurt'
New England Patriots safety Patrick Chung has reportedly been indicted on a serious drug charge.
Chung was indicted on a charge of possession of co- caine, a Class B felony that carries a sentence of 3.5 to 7 years in prison, in Belknap County, New Hampshire.
The incident took place around June 25 and the in- dictment was presented on August 8, according to the report.
PATRICK CHUNG
It is unclear why an inci- dent that happened two
months ago is just coming to light now, or whether the Pa- triots and NFL are aware of the matter. Chung has been participating in training camp as usual and is ex- pected to be a starter on the Patriots’ defense when the regular season begins.
Chung, who has an ar- raignment hearing set for Wednesday, could face league discipline for violat- ing the NFL substance-abuse policy.

The reaction was as sur- prising as Andrew Luck‘s decision. Maybe more sur- prising.
Luck won 53 regular-sea- son games, four playoff games and made four Pro Bowls for the Colts. He deliv- ered many memories to Indi- anapolis.
Yet, as he left the field for the final time as a member of the Colts on Saturday night, after news broke of his retire- ment, many of those left in the stands at Lucas Oil Sta- dium booed. They booed loudly.
“I’d be lying if I didn’t say I heard the reaction,” Luck said. “It hurt; I’ll be honest.”
The Colts were as disap- pointed with fans’ reaction as Luck was.
“For those people that booed tonight, it’s an emo- tional time and I understand that,” General Manager
ANDREW LUCK
Chris Ballard said. “This young man had done a lot for the city of Indianapolis, and for the Colts. Nobody died. And we will keep moving for- ward and we will make this city proud.”
Luck, who turns 30 next month, said he will continue to call Indianapolis home. It will give Colts fans a chance to make up with their former quarterback, who left Lucas Oil Stadium disappointed for more than one reason Satur- day night.

Some Choice Words
For Fans Who Booed
Andrew Luck
When Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck walked off the field last night at Lucas Oil Stadium follow- ing the team’s third presea- son game, news of his imminent retirement had al- ready reached the fans in at- tendance, and some could not contain their displeasure, booing Luck relentlessly as he exited.
Many people, including current and former players, found the display by the fans embarrassing and disrespect- ful. After all, Luck chose to retire saying the injuries and rehab had begun taking a toll on him and his love of the game. For people to shame him for making a choice that’s best for him and his family is beyond reprehensi- ble.
And, former Colts interim head coach and current Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach Bruce Arians seems to feel
BRUCE ARIANS AND ANDREW LUCK
the same way.
Arians filled in for Colts
head coach Chuck Pagano in 2012, during Luck’s rookie season. Arians went 9-3 as the interim coach, win- ning NFL Coach of the Year honors that season as the Colts finished 11-5. It was a big reason, if not the reason, the Arizona Cardinals hired him as head coach in 2013.
Pretty sure Arians will be reaching out to Luck at some point soon. Let’s hope, though, he doesn’t run into any of those booing Indy fans, for their sake at least.
