Rhymefest Holds Vigil
The Game’s Concert In Oregon Abruptly Stopped After Gunfire
THE GAME
The Game has made himself
a private enemy in Philly thanks to his lyrical friction with the likes of Meek Mill and his Dreamchasers camp but nothing appeared to be re- lated to the situation last night (October 6) at Portland’s Rose- land Theater in the Old Town Chinatown when a fight broke out and at least one gunshot was fired.
It is also worth noting that the veteran rap star had yet to take the stage as an opening act was performing at the time of the altercation.
Portland police tell The Ore- gonian that the shooting oc- curred around 10:35 p.m. but the good news is that no in- juries as a result of gunfire nor evacuation of the building were reported. According to KGW’s Mike Benner, a single bullet hole was found in the stage. He also admitted that the crime scene was a very “fluid situa- tion” and many of the show’s attendees lingered around in the aftermath.
Against Chicago Gun
Violence After Being Robbed
Chicago’s own Rhymefest led a vigil in his hometown to shed light on the gun violence that plagues the city this evening (October 9) at Lincoln Park Presbyterian Church.
He spoke about his initia- tives for the vigil with Windy City Live.
This caused the Donda’s House co-founder to demand a meeting with the superin- tendent of the Chicago Police Department.
“Not only with me but with the people who are in this community, to explain that culture,” he told WGN. “I’ve never been in a situation where I walk in to report a crime and they look at me as the criminal.”
The move comes from the Oscar-winning songwriter’s own experience when he was
Rhymefest
robbed at gunpoint in August and was ignored by authorities when he made an attempt to report the incident.
This led him to put the de- partment on blast by publicly documenting his experience with the city’s authorities who were lax about helping him.
French Montana opened up about walking away from his MC4 project during a newly published interview with Complex. After announc- ing in August that the album was being pushed back, the project got leaked, leaving French little choice but to dump the album and move on to his next effort.
“Songs like ‘I’m Heated’ and ‘Two Times’ couldn’t be cleared,” French explained.
“By the time I got the mix how I recorded it, it wasn’t the same. I just ain’t have the same feeling for it.
French also spoke on learning of the release of his close friend Max B. It was re- vealed in September that Max B will be released from prison early after striking a plea deal. Once released, French re- vealed that Max and himself have plans to start their own record label.

“Growing Up Hip Hop’s” Angela Simmons just gave birth to her baby son last week, but that’s not the only big news she’s celebrating.
The daughter of Run DMC rap royalty the Rev. Joseph Simmons has also married
her child’s father, Sutton Tennyson, according to Cymphonique Miller, the sister of rapper/reality star Romeo Miller, who Angela once dated. Cymphonique said the news came out of the blue.
Toni Braxton Had To Postpone Tour Due To Being Hospitalized
A recent hospitalization prompted Toni Braxton to postpone the first two stops on her upcoming U.S. tour. The trek was slated to launch on October 8th in Oakland and October 9th in LA but now will start Wednesday, October 12th in Detroit. The canceled dates have been rescheduled for January 28 and 29.
