     Bridging The Gap In The City Of Lakeland Community

 Bridging the Gap between local Law Enforcement Offi- cers and citizens in communi- ties is vital to enhancing the quality of life for all citizens.
The City of Lakeland Po- lice Department and the City of Lakeland Police Advisory Board are working hard to build good community rela- tions within the City of Lake- land.
On Saturday, September 26th, the Chairman of the Lakeland Police Advisory Board, Dr. Shandale Ter- rell; Lakeland Police Assis- tant Chief, Hans Lehman; Lakeland Police Assistant Chief, Sam Taylor; The City of Lakeland Interim City Manager, Shawn Sher- rouse; Lakeland Police As- sistant Chief, Rick Taylor; and Lakeland Police Lieu- tenant, Eric Harper, volun- teered their time, support and
assistance in the City of Lake- land, Gang Task Force com- munity cleanup.
Faith-based churches and organizations within the City of Lakeland also volunteered in the community cleanup: All Saints of Lakeland, The Dream Center of Lakeland, New Beulah Missionary Bap- tist Church of Lakeland, New Bethel AME Church of Lake- land, Salvation Army of Lake- land, Rhema Word of Faith International Church of Lake- land, St. Luke’s Ministries, Inc., of Lakeland, and the Lakeland Police Department. The volunteers assisted in cleaning up trash and debris, cleaning alleyways, clearing vacant lots, mowing lawns and delivering food items to the citizens in need in the City of Lakeland Northwest Lake Wire community.
