   Community Activist Connie Burton Is Chairman Of East Tampa CAC Board
 The East Tampa Commu- nity Revitalization Partnership (ETCRP) has 6 new members, who were elected on Septem- ber 8, 2020 to serve on its Community Advisory Commit- tee (CAC). One of the new members was named chair- man at the October 8th meet- ing.
Ms. Connie Burton, a longtime community activist, mother and grandmother, was named Chairman. Her vice chair is Carol Joseph Mar- shall, who’s already on the Board.
The other new members are: Dominic Cobb, Jeffrey Johnson, Yvette Lewis, Norene Copeland Miller and Clinton Paris.
“We are tasked with work- ing with the communiity, lis- tening to the community, removing blight in East Tampa

and the total economic lift of our community,” she ex- plained.
There are 10 neighborhood associations within the East Tampa boundary, and “we hope to have the full participa- tion of the community leaders and the business leaders,” Ms.
Burton said.
The group’s first official
meeting will be an orientation session to familiarize them with their duties. There are also 8 subcommittees and chairs will be named for those. “Each chair is to fully engage the community while listen- ing...so that we can have a vi- able plan to transform East Tampa.
“The persons on the CAC Board have a love for the East Tampa community and the people. We’re committed to giving our all to see a better East Tampa,” she concluded.
Other members of the Board are: Ricky Bell, Mona Judge, Denese Meteye James, Shay Holiday, Lan- ette Glass and Lafaye Thomas.

   Sports Venues To Serve As Early Voting Locations
 With the COVID-19 pan- demic and other factors re- ducing the number of in-person voting options this year, sports arenas around the country are opening their doors to voters for safe, in- person polling options.
Tampa’s Raymond James Stadium and Amalie Arena will open as polling lo- cations for local residents for early voting.
Election Super Centers, a non-partisan group, along with legendary basketball coach Doc Rivers and organ- izations across the country, are working with local election authorities and more than 60 NBA, MLB, NFL, NHL and MLS arenas, leagues and teams to let communities know their local venues are participating as polling sites -
for a campaign called “Make History Here.”
Early voting in Hills- borough County begins Monday, October 19, 2020.
