Comey will lead and con- duct five lectures throughout the academic school year, for which he will be paid $100,000. However, the one- time FBI leader, who was fired in May, is donating his salary to a Howard University scholar- ship fund benefiting students who come from foster homes.

Teen Arrested For Beating Counter Protester In Charlottesville
Police have arrested and charged 18-year-old Daniel Borden for his part in the vio- lent beating of Deandre Har- ris at the Charlottesville white supremacist “Unite The Right” rally. The former Mason High School student was seen at- tacking Harris with a pole in- side a parking garage near the demonstration.
Sgt. J. Via with the Char- lottesville Police Department said Borden was announced as a person of interest about three days after the beating oc- curred. Borden was later ar- rested on Friday (Aug. 25) and is now being held at the Hamil- ton County Justice Center where he was charged with ma- licious wounding.
Daniel Borden was arrested on last Friday.
Greg Berberich, an attor- ney for Borden said his client was charged “as a consequence of rioting caused by the City of Charlottesville’s decision to allow (Black Lives Matter) and Antifah (anti-fascism) mem- bers to attack those protesting the removal of Robert E. Lee’s statue from a local park.”
Black Girls Code Organization Turns Down $125,000 From Uber
As a part of Uber’s attempt to change public perception, the company has donated to various organizations.
Uber's year of diversity woes and sexual harassment allega- tions has sparked a culture shift in the company to wel- come women and minorities into the fold.
Black Girls Code was on that list of organizations that would help rebuild Uber's reputation. On Thursday, Aug. 24, Uber of- fered $125,000 to founder Kimberly Bryant's company aimed at teaching and inspiring Black girls to get into the tech industry. She turned down the large sum because she didn't think the move was genuine.
Kimberly Bryant turned down money from Uber.
Former Uber engineer Susan Fowler, who brought the sexual harassment allega- tions to light, believed that the move was just a public rela- tions stunt.
