Girl, 8, Struck By Car While Walking To School
The Tampa Police Depart- ment launched an investigation into a traffic accident early Tues- day. The accident took place at the intersection of Florida Av- enue and Hollywood Street.
According to police, Vanessa Marquez was walk- ing to school with her sibling. The child was walkng eastbound on Hollywood Street, shortly after 7 a.m., when she stepped off the curb and onto Florida Av- enue.
As she stepped into the roadway a blue BMW was trav- eling southbound on Florida Av- enue. The mirror on the passenger side struck the child in her face.
She was transported to Tampa General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police did not identify the driver and said it did not appear the driver would be given a cita- tion.
Middleton Class Of 1960 Announces
The Middleton High School Class of 1960 will have Class Meeting on Saturday, November 19, 2016, at 3 p. m. The meeting will be held at Days Mart, formerly Betty’s Corner, 3501 North 26th Street, Tampa. Tickets for the Dec. 17, 2016 Christmas Luncheon will be available. Please try to bring a classmate.
