RAY WILLIAMS
SISTER SARAH B. LACY
Sister Sarah B. Lacy of Tampa passed away Monday, July 9, 2018. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, July 21 at 11 a. m. at Bethel A. M. E. Church, 5001 Cumberland Dr., with Reverend Karen Jackson Sims, officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.
Sister Sarah B. Lacy was a native of Monticello, FL and a resident of Tampa for many years. She was a loyal, faithful member of Bethel AME Church for over fifty years, where she served faithfully in many capac- ities. She loved God and she loved her church. She was a member of the Steward Board, Stewardess Board, Usher, and as a finance committee member.
Sister Lacy was always will- ing to help wherever she was needed. She was known for her faithfulness and is considered as one of Bethel’s pioneers, as she was the oldest member of her church family. Her picture hangs on the wall of the church as a member who was recog- nized with 50 years of service. When she got to a place where she was no longer able to physi- cally attend church, that did in no way affect her loyal member- ship. The church continued to appreciate her membership by servicing her at home.
Sister Sarah B. Lacy was a faithful member of her church and she will be greatly missed.
Sister Lacy was preceded in death by: her husband, Franklin Lacy; her sister, Eleanora Walker; her daughter-in-law, Dr. Gwendolyn Carter (wife to her son for fifty years); and her grandson, George Carter, III.
She is survived by: her only beloved son, George Carter, Jr.; her grandchildren, Zelma Z. Noble, M. Joycelynn Robinson and Christopher A. Carter; her great-grandchildren, Michael A. Conner, Jr., Keith V. Ford, Isaac Conner, Natalia Brown (hus- band, Craig), Crystal Conner, Christopher A. Conner and Joshua I. Chambers; her great- great-grandchildren, Suhmer P. Crime
Man Killed
By Police
Identified
The couple was the parents of a child, but the child was not at home when the deaths took place.
This marks the second time in five weeks that police have responded to a murder-suicide in that apartment complex.
On June 7th, police found the bodies of Justin Page, 37, and Ms. Ashley Chiello, 30, in an apartment in the com- plex.
Detectives said it appears to be a murder-suicide. However, the investigation is continuing.
During the early morning hours last Friday, Hillsborough County deputies were dis- patched to a home in Riverview. The woman who lived there told police that her estranged husband refused to leave her home.
When the deputies arrived at 11006 Del Sol Drive, Deputy Joshua Berrios and Deputy Dannette Brennan made contact with the man, later identified as 60-year-old Tim Gohann Braun, of Gibson- ton.
Braun refused to respond to several commands from the deputies. At one point, he raised a firearm and refused to drop it. At one point, he pointed the firearm at the deputies and both opened fire. Braun died at the scene.
Neither of the deputies were injured, but have been placed on administrative leave pend- ing the outcome of the investi- gation. The investigation continues.
