The Ladies of Purple Passion are all excited about their Summer Dance Party. The community is invited to join them this Friday, (July 20th) for their dance. This is their first fundraising event of the year.
The dance will be at the American Legion Hall, 3910 W. Kennedy Blvd., Tampa 33609, 8 p. m. until mid- night. The attire this year is purple and white. “TJ, the Dancing DJ” will provide the music.

Florida Native Assigned To USS O’Kane

PEARL HARBOR —- A 2016 Fivay High School graduate and New Port Richey, Florida, native is serving in the U. S. Navy as part of the world’s largest international maritime warfare exercise, Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC).
Seaman Justin George is an operations specialist aboard USS O’Kane, currently operating out of Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.
A Navy operations spe- cialist is responsible for providing shipboard a wide range of technical informa- tion and assistance related to anti warfare, radar, and rescue operations.

Twenty-six nations, 46 surface ships, five sub-
marines, and more than 200 aircraft and 25,000 personnel will participate in the biennial Rim of the Pa- cific Exercise. This year’s exercise includes forces from Australia, Brunei, Canada, Chile, Colombia, France, Germany, India, In- donesia, Israel, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, Nether- lands, New Zealand, Peru, the Republic of Korea, the Republic of the Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thai- land, Tonga, the United Kingdom, the United States and Vietnam.
As a member of the U. S. Navy, George and other sailors know they are part of a legacy that will last be- yond their lifetimes provid- ing the Navy what the nation needs.
