COACH Seeking $1,000,000 Investment To Save Tax Dollars And Reduce Crime
Reverend Willie G. Dixon, Founder and CEO of COACH Foundation, Inc., is seeking a $1,000,000 invest- ment to save tax dollars and reduce crime.
COACH is a non-profit or- ganization, established in 1981 to assist inmates, their families and loved ones before, during and after their incarceration.
The COACH blueprint and investment is estimated to save taxpayers $2,861,600 per year by an intervention program duplicating the principles of the former Comprehensive Employment and Training Act (CETA) to prevent individuals living a life of governmental dependency. COACH will tar- get and market, unemployed individuals, ex-offenders, vet- erans, recovering drug addicts and youth offenders.
Taxpayers spend approxi- mately $19,308 per year to in- carcerate an individual. The COACH initiative will cost $5,000 per individual and thereby saving the taxpayers $14,308 per year. To incarcer- ate 200 individuals the cost is $3,861,600 per year.
This initiative will create over 160 jobs for workers, who will earn a minimum of

$20,000 per year and stimu- late the local economy by $3.2 million per year. In five years this initiative will boost the local economy by at least $16 million.
COACH is slated to estab- lish partnerships with local businesses, trade schools and contractors that will allow the participants to become gain- fully employed. Participants will be required to enroll in the COACH Detox and LifePath Programs.
“The COACH initiative will help fill a void in our commu- nity of job training skills and
self-sufficiency,” Rev. Dixon said. “That will allow many of the unemployed to become productive, law-abiding citi- zens.”
COACH has a proven record and history that have spon- sored several effective pro- grams such as: after-school programs, drug prevention classes, natural health semi- nars, prison ministry re-entry, survival skills classes, afford- able housing and financial im- provement programs.
The initial investment of $1 million from government agencies, investors, or philan- thropists will be a win-win sit- uation for taxpayers, participants, communities, FDOC and families.
