  N. B. Young Reunion Registration Ends April 1st
Registration for The N.B. Young Reunion is at the 1-month countdown.
According to Reunion co- chair, Bonnye Hall Crews, “we are hoping that former alumni will send their pay- ments in as soon as possible. The registration has been very slow, and we will have to decide if we can move for- ward, or heaven forbid, cancel the celebration.
“We were inspired by the feedback when the idea was revealed, however, now that the plans and the cost have been attached, we are assess- ing the event,” she said.
“Sadly the person who came up with the idea has passed away. My cousin, Michelle, was a person that loved Tampa, and wanted to see as many people she knew as possible. She was a big Facebook person, and stayed in contact with a lot of folks.
MICHELLE ANDREWS FOSTER
Now, I am hoping we can make this happen for her.
“Michelle did help come up with some of the activities, Bonnye and I just took the
ball and solidified things to make it happen,” co-chair, Kay Andrews said.
Deadlines are neces- sary because we have to know how many to plan for. The events are:
On Friday night, there will be an all-white attired, ‘Meet and Greet,’ with card games, N. B. Young Trivia, food, cash bar and an old-school DJ.
This is the time to see old and meet new friends and pick up your goodie bag (if you register for all events).
On Saturday, a day activity at Armature Works to con- nect and explore a changing ‘Tampa Bay’ has been planned; everyone who has a T-Shirt is asked to wear it with blue jeans.
Later on that evening, a ‘Grown Folks Prom’ will be held. Everyone is asked to dress in Cocktail/Prom attire with an added twist...Tennis Shoes. With the average age of the Reunion participants being 60-years-old, being comfortable and dance-ready was the primary reason for the idea.
If you were a member of the faculty or staff or were a 7th, 8th or 9th grade student at Young Jr. High from 1964 through June of 1971, pay and register soon to attend a weekend of events: October 9 - 10, 2020.
