  Crime Student Arrested For Threatening To
Mother Charged In Death Of Infant
  Shoot Up School
  A 17-year-old student was arrested Wednesday and charged with a felony. He is accused of making written threats to conduct a mass shooting at school.
According to the St. Pe- tersburg Police Department, Deonte Hall was taken into custody at his home. He is alleged to have posted on Facebook that he would “shoot up” Gibbs High School if someone “liked” his post. He also had several posts of him and firearms, police said.

A 34-year-old woman has been arrested and charged in connection with the death of her infant son. She was arrested on Tues- day.
According to the Hills- borough County Sheriff’s Of- fice, on April 24th, at 2:25 a.m., deputies responded to 9715 Long Meadow Drive, in reference to an unresponsive child. The infant, 2-month- old Brennen Rand, was transported to Tampa Gen- eral Hospital, where he later died.

A search of the residence led detectives to find several items of drug paraphernalia and narcotics usage close to where the baby had been.
The Hillsborough County Medical Examiner’s Office determined that the infant died as a result of “diffuse pulmonary hemorrhage with hypothermia due to cocaine exposure.”
His mother, Ms. Megan Michelle Rand, of Tampa, was taken into custody and charged with aggravated manslaughter of a child.

A 30-year-old man has been arrested and charged with the murder of two peo- ple.
Their bodies were found in an alley earlier this week. According to the St. Pe-
tersburg Police Department, around 7:30 a.m., Tuesday, a woman flagged down an of- ficer on his way to work. She informed the officer that a

body was in the alleyway of 14th Avenue, South and 16th Street, South.
Upon investigation, the officer discovered the body of a man and a woman. De- tectives arrived at the scene and said they believed the double murder had drug overtones. A pickup truck was also located at the scene, police said.

The victims were identi- fied as Ms. Cheryl Lee Casey, 58, and 35-year-old Kenneth Lee Shook.
As the investigation con- tinued, leads developed in the case identified Charles Edward Hixon, Jr., as a suspect in the case. He was arrested Wednesday and charged with 2 counts of first-degree murder.
