2019:
The Year To Make Money Moves
mpowered Greet-
ings. I have deemed 2019 to be the year to make money moves and mind your money. In order to accom- plish all the things you set out to do this year, it's going to take money. Therefore, you need to start out with your mind on your money and your money on mind. It is time to be intentional about the decisions that you make concerning money. Give yourself permission to make your money a priority.
Here's 5 Ways to Mind Your Money
1. Identify your overall fi- nancial goal for the year. Look at your year at a glance. Determine where you want to be financially at the end the year. (ex. $75,000 in- come, $2500 in savings, debt free, car paid off etc.)
2. Develop a plan that breaks down what you need to do monthly, weekly and daily to hit the year end goal. ( To save $2500 by end of year, you'll need to save about $48.08 weekly.) So create a plan to have that amount automatically de- ducted from your paycheck and deposited into a seperate savings account dedicated solely for the purpose of tucking that money away. If you get paid biweekly then
deposit $96.16 per pay check. Listen you won't miss it if you never see it.
3. Dedicate time monthly to review the plan you've put in place. Make sure the ac- tion steps you have put into place are manageable and at- tainable. (Ex if you want to increase income by $1000 per month, develop strategy to sell 25 of your $10 prod- ucts weekly or 10 of your $25.00 products/service weekly to increase income by $1000.) Is your plan work- ing? What can you do to im- prove it and get the results you want? Do it and stay dedicated to the process.
4. Maintain your disci- pline and don't get distracted as the year progresses. That's the importance of making a date with yourself monthly to review and readjust the process if necessary. Also make a date to attend events with others that are having wealth building conversa- tions and making money moves. Constantly put your- self in a state of being em- powered financially by surrounding yourself with fi- nancially savvy individuals and listening to audio recordings to enhance your money mindset.
5. Sacrifice for what you want. Allow the desire of
achieving your finacial dreams to be the fuel that lights the fire to your focus. Raise your financial stan- dards by setting the bar, then always work to attain it. Move with motivation to- ward your goal and don't let anything or anyone stop you from going for the gusto. Re- member the reasons why you're doing what you're doing so they can keep you rooted and grounded to stay the course.
Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can do. Don't make it it diffi- cult. Keep it simple and stay focused. You'll achieve more than you thought was possi- ble.

Never Again!
e applaud Senate Majority Leader, Mitch Mc-
Connell for saying that he is open to supporting bipartisan efforts to prevent future government shut- downs. If any Senator or Representative votes against such legislation, they should be unseated during the next election or should be recalled through petition.
The livelihood and well-being of government em- ployees should never be used as hostage for any rea- son. Furthermore, because there is no job safety, such actions could very well begin an exodus of employees from their jobs, creating instability in our government. We support legislation that would prevent future gov- ernment shutdown under any circumstance. Several proposals are currently being considered by Congress. We believe the legislation should be passed BEFORE the February 15th deadline. No one person should have the power or the right to shut the government down.
Several departments have indicated that it could take up to a year for them to restore the department’s workload to normalcy. Specifically, the Internal Rev- enue Service reports that it will need a full year to complete work backlogs. Other departments struggling to overcome the shutdown include Homeland Security, Justice, State, Treasury, Environment Protection Agency, and NASA.
Those banks, mortgage companies, car loan compa- nies, and other government employee creditors that relaxed pressure for past due payments are to be ap- plauded, also. Indeed, the shutdown impacted every small and large company such as barber shops, beauty shops, airport security, restaurants, car washes, banks, loan companies, merchandise stores, and gaso- line purchases.
Consequently, we encourage our readers to contact your congressional representatives and let them know you support quick passage of legislation that prevents future shutdowns. The Hillsborough County Congres- sional delegation may be reached at 202-224-3121 or 813-274-6789. Remember: Silence is consent.
